LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Police are asking for help from the
public as they search for a 9-year-old boy who went missing Saturday
night after having an argument with his stepmother.
Kevin Rodriguez was last seen about 6pm Saturday night at his family's home located at 1510 E. 22nd Street.
The boy and his stepmother squabbled, but she felt they had resolved the
issue, said a family member. She later found her front door open and
Kevin was gone
The boy -- who is about 4 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about
100 pounds -- speaks Spanish and has lived in the U.S. for only a few
months, police officials said. He was last seen wearing a red shirt,
blue pants and no shoes. His hair is black and police say he has a
"heavy build."
Los Angeles Police have searched non-stop since Kevin went missing
Saturday night and set up a command post at the family's home.
Officers conducted a grid search of the department's entire Southwest
division. They checked local schools, hospitals and family members and
did not find any trace of Kevin.
Police used bloodhounds to track the Kevin's movements but the dogs lost his trail about five blocks away from his home.
Anyone with information on Kevin's whereabouts is urged to contact the Newton Watch Commander at 323-846-6547.
During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to
1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call
Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).
Tipsters can also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number
274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone. All text
messages should begin with the letters "LAPD." Tipsters may also go to

A 10-year-old boy who had been missing since Saturday night was located Monday and returned unharmed to his family, a Los Angeles police spokesman said.
Kevin Rodriguez apparently ran away after an argument at his home in the 1500 block of East 22nd Street, south of downtown Los Angeles. Police were notified and began searching for the boy.
He was located this morning at a nearby home and was returned to his parents, said spokesman Joseph Cleon. They do not believe there was any foul play involved.
