(McPHERSON, Kan.)—
The parents of 15-year-old Jaymie Stieben tried
to sum up their emotions as best they could. It’s been three days since
anyone in the family last saw the McPherson teen.
"The last two or three days we have been so anxious, scared and weepy,” says Jaymie’s mom Jalayn Stieben.
This past Saturday afternoon, Jaymie told her mom she was going on a
walk to a nearby park. That park is less than a block away from the
Stieben home and the family says Jaymie often walks to that park alone.
Jaymie walks along a dried up creek bed next to the house to get to that park.
The family talked about what their search has been like since
Saturday. They say that friends have been a big help in the search for their daughter.
"We have had friends drive by all the parks and all the streets,” says Jalayn Stieben.
After Eyewitness News reported that Jaymie was missing a tip came in
that she could be in the city of Salina. Her parents are praying that
lead can help in the case.
Jaymie is 5'4 tall, 200 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. She has a
lip piercing with a silver stud. She was last seen wearing a blue
t-shirt with green Tinkerbell pajama bottoms and flip flops.
Police say Jaymie has a history of befriending people on the internet and meeting up with them.
Anyone with information about Jaymie's whereabouts is asked to contact the
McPherson Police Department or McPherson CrimeStoppers at 1-800-241-8118.
