Attorney says Zenaida Gonzalez has ‘real case’ against Casey Anthony

On July 10, 2011, Avery Friedman, a civil rights attorney spoke with CNN regarding the upcoming defamation lawsuit filed by Zenaida Gonzalez against Casey Anthony. Originally filed in 2008, Zenaida Gonzalez states that when Casey Anthony went public with her story that her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony, had been abducted by a nanny with the same name, her life as she knew it abruptly ended. On July 7, 2011, Zenaida Gonzalez’ attorney, John Morgan, announced that Casey Anthony has been subpoenaed to provide a deposition on July 19, 2011 in John Morgan’s Orlando, Florida office. The scheduled deposition comes two days after her scheduled release from jail following her acquittal from the June 2008 death of her daughter.

When asked if he felt there was a real case since Zenaida Gonzalez has stated she never met Casey Anthony, he stated that he believed Casey Anthony knew what she was doing when she selected such an unusual name to use as her “nanny.”

He stated to Fredricka Whitfield, “This is all going to come out in discovery, many other things, including some of the things that didn't come out in the criminal trial . . . .
