Police searching for missing teen mother and son

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police are looking for teen girl and her baby who have been missing since early Thursday morning.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police
Department's Missing Person Unit, the 17 year old and her one year old
son were last seen at their home at 6628 Idlewild Road.
Milea Porter told police when she returned
home from work on Thursday at 1:40 a.m., Tyra and Tyvere were not there,
and some of their belongings were missing.
The CMPD says Tyra suffers from mental health
issues, and her family is extremely concerned about both her and her
son's safety. Tyra is 5'2" tall and weighs 120 pounds.
Both have been entered into NCIC.

There are more and more cases like this every day. What is a teenager with mental health issues doing keeping her baby when she got pregnant?
Obviously the baby isn't safe in her care.
Just because a girl get's pregnant, that doesn't mean they have to choose to be a mother, or be deemed suitable to be one by their family and authorities. Adoption is the better solution. The baby comes first and should have a loving, stable 2 parent family caring for her. How is an unstable teenager going to provide for and raise a baby the way a baby should be raised?
Governments need to stop enabling these situations and we need to go back to the last generation where adoption was the normal path.
Perhaps the teens these days all have ideas of becoming a celebrity for being a pregnant teen.

Marlon Porter wants his teenage daughter to come back home.
"The last time she ran away, she was on the
North side of Charlotte in a dope house," he said."Our fear is that our
grandson is in another dope house with her."
One year old Tyvere Porter hasn't been seen
since Thursday, the child and his 17 year old mother Tyra Porter went
missing from the Ashley Place apartments near East Independence and
Idlewild.
Her father is concerned about his daughter's mental state.
He said, "She started cutting on her arms and made two or three cuts on her back."
Because of that earlier this week, her parents had Tyra committed to County Mental Health.
She was released a day later.
Mecklenburg County department of Social Services started an investigation, but is getting very little cooperation.
"She called the D-S-S worker and said that she had her son, and that she's not coming back," Porter said.
He fears the mother and son may be with a possible boyfriend.
"The only guy we know of is a guy by the name
of Will. He stays in Statesville but he has a mother that stays
somewhere here in Charlotte."

That would have been when she was pregnant IMO. They had concerns about her mental state then, and obviously knew she was 15 and unstable, yet she had the baby and was allowed to keep him.
I'm sick of posting about these situations. We all know teenagers are reckless and clueless half the time and it's up to we adults to make sensible decisions for these babies. Prospective Grandparents and authorities need to step up as they are failing these babies.
