Why The Drowning Defense Does Not Hold Weight.
Miss Ford, I hope having some time to contemplate my first three letters has given you a new perspective on your actions. Today we are going to resume looking at evidence that was presented at trial and discuss why that evidence does not correlate with the defenses proposed theory that Caylee Marie Anthony drowned, and her remains were hidden by her grandfather George Anthony. Pay attention and attempt to use common sense while reading and contemplating the facts. After all, that was your job as a juror.
The defense told you George Anthony had hid Caylee’s body after discovering her lifeless in the family pool. This is a list of what George, a loving grandfather would have done if this was in fact the truth. Keeping in mind the defense had no burden of proof , they did however open a door when they proposed this scenario as the truth. They should have given answers to the multiple questions that come to mind when trying to figure out if this story is ” reasonable” or plausible. These questions should have been asked during deliberations and when they did not add up, the ” reasonable doubt” the defense put forth should have been dis-guarded. Using common sense and the evidence, here is why the defense failed to provide you with REASONABLE doubt and you failed to deliberate properly and come to the correct verdict.
George would not have placed Caylee in trash bags or a laundry bag. He would not have tossed her body into the swamp like trash. George would not have placed duct tape on Caylee’s mouth or hair. Doing so served no LOGICAL purpose. George has experience in law enforcement, remember he was a police officer in Ohio. He had experience with crime scenes, that means he would know how to dispose of a body, he would have done a better job than bagging his granddaughter and throwing her in the swamp where she easily could have been found. Why would George Anthony, a man willing to commit suicide to be reunited with his beloved Granddaughter disrespect her by placing duct tape over her nose, mouth and hair, and then put her in a laundry bag and trash bags ? If George did in fact dispose of Caylee’s remains, psychology 101 and common sense would tell you George would have done the following :
