The following is a release from the Hinsdale Police Department:


The Hinsdale Police Department is asking for assistance from the community in locating a runaway juvenile of Hinsdale.



The juvenile, 15-year-old Renee Zubko, left her residence in the 800
block of South Jackson Street on Oct. 9, and was last seen Oct. 11 at a
friend’s apartment in the 10 block of Burlington Avenue in Westmont.


Zubko (pictured at right) is a 5'7" white female who weighs 130 lbs.
and has blonde hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray
Chicago Bears hoodie, blue jeans, leggings, and gray moccasins. She does
not have a vehicle.


No foul play is suspected at this time. Any persons who may know the
whereabouts of Renee Zubko should contact the Hinsdale Police Department
at (630) 789-7070.

A Hinsdale teen reported missing on Oct. 11 by family members still
has not been located, Deputy Police Chief Kevin Simpson said.

“We have multiple investigators following up on leads, but she hasn’t
been located,” Simpson said Friday morning of missing 15-year-old Renee
Zubko. Friday marks 10 days since Zubko was reported missing to police.

Police asked the public for help locating the teen, who left her
residence at the 800 block of S. Jackson Street on Oct. 9 and was last
seen at a friend’s apartment on Oct. 11 at the 10 block of Burlington
Avenue in Westmont.

Simpson said he couldn’t comment on leads, as they could jeopardize the investigation.

Hinsdale doesn’t often see missing persons, Simpson said, and the
cased that do come to their attention are closed relatively quickly.

“It’s the details that become important ,” Simpson said. “Where the
person went missing, what state of mind they were in, their habits, what
would have prompted this.”

Renee is described as 5 foot 7 inches tall, 130 pounds with blond
hair and blue eyes. Police report she was last seen in a gray Chicago
Bears hoodie and jeans.

Police reported she does not have a vehicle.

Hinsdale Police reported Wednesday morning that a 15-year-old runaway
who had been reported missing for more than 20 days, was found Tuesday
evening.

The girl who lives on the 800 block of S. Jackson Street, was reported missing on Oct. 11,
and was last reported seen at the 0 to 100 block of Burlington Avenue
in Westmont. Police reported she was observed at the same apartment
Tuesday evening, where she was found and taken into protective custody.

She was released to the custody of her mother unharmed on Tuesday
night, police reported. Foul play was ruled out in the case early on by
police.

Hinsdale Police are continuing the investigation into the matter and
reported charges are being sought for those who provided false
information to police in order to conceal the girl’s whereabouts and
also those who contributed to her delinquency by providing shelter to a
minor runaway.
