"Infant John" CAINE - 15 Months - Enfield NC

A mother is arrested for abusing her toddler after the child was found with second degree burns and broken bones.

Tasha Caine of Enfield was charged with felony child abuse on Thursday by Enfield police.
Her son is 15-months old.

Police say earlier this month they received a report
of suspected child abuse from Social Services. The child was taken on
October 1st to Halifax Regional Medical Center for treatment of burns.
He was immediately airlifted to UNC Burn Center where the boy was found
to have second degree burns. Doctors also found bone fractures in various stages of healing.

Caine's bond was set at $200,000 and the mother has a November 23rd court date.
The toddler has been released from the hospital.
