(Wheaton, MO) -- Authorities in Barry County are looking for a missing 12-year-old girl.

Authorities say Sadie Dunegan ran away from a home in the 300 block of Farm Road
2110 near Wheaton. She's been missing since about 9 p.m. Thursday.

The Barry County Sheriff's Office says Sadie was last seen wearing a pink jacket and a blue shirt.
Sheriff Mick Epperly says officers have been out all night searching and are still searching at this time.

The girl was barefoot when she left the house. She has short, red curly
hair and wears glasses with white tape on the frames. She's about 5 foot tall and weighs about 90 pounds.

(Wheaton, MO) -- Almost a day after going missing, a Barry County girl returns home.
Sheriff
Mick Epperly says 12-year-old Sadie Dunegan "walked back to her home"
Friday after rescue crews scoured the county for any trace of her.
"We're
still trying to sort out exactly where she was at, because we had dogs
out there. No one couldn't find her that way." Sheriff Epperly says
deputies, police from Wheaton, and Highway Patrol troopers searched by
land and air.
"A lot of man power."
Dunegan,
who'd run away from home in the past, left her Wheaton home barefoot
around 9 p.m. Thursday. The fact that she was missing overnight was a
warning flag for officers.
"We searched until 2 a.m. Then we picked back up again the next morning."
The sheriff says Dunegan walked back into her home around 6 p.m. Friday. She claims to have been hiding in an outbuilding.
"Thank goodness she didn't get into any trouble."
The Barry County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

12 Year Old Wheaton Girl Taken Into Protective Custody

A 12 year old girl reported missing from her foster home in Wheaton has been taken into protective custody while juvenile authorities investigate allegations of of child abuse. The Barry County sheriff says two sisters and a brother have also been taken from the home. Sadie Dunegan was reported as missing Thursday night. The search for her included tracking dogs and a helicopter. It came to an end when she showed up back at home at around 6 o'clock Friday evening.
