Zion Hyde, 13, of Union City, went missing on New year's Eve.

UNION CITY -- A 13-year-old city girl went missing on New Year's Eve,
police said, one of three people who went missing over the long holidayweekend.

"She is a habitual runaway, but unfortunately, she has not returned
or been found," Zion Hyde's stepfather, Dean Wolfe, said. "Previously
she has been found at West Side Avenue in Jersey City and the Newport
(Centre) Mall (located at 30 Mall Drive West in Jersey City).

Zion was last seen at The Coach House diner in North Bergen, at the
intersection of Paterson Plank Road and Kennedy Boulevard, on Saturday
around 7 p.m., according to Eric Fleming, a friend of Wolfe's who is
helping to search for Zion.

The Emerson Middle School student is described as being 5-feet, 100
pounds, with brown eyes and dark curly hair with straightened bangs,
officials said. Her top lip is pierced.

She was wearing a skirt and a jacket with snowflake designs on Saturday evening, reports said.

Wolfe and Fleming have been posting fliers in Union City and Jersey
City, with the help of about a dozen volunteers. A "Find Zion Hyde"
Facebook page was also created by Wolfe to increase the chances of
finding his stepdaughter.

Wolfe is asking anyone who sees his stepdaughter to not interact with
her, bit to immediately call the Union City Detective Bureau at (201)

At 13 years old, why is Zion allowed to have her top lip pierced and is at a diner at 7pm on a Saturday(New Years Eve) without an adult?

No wonder she is a habitual runaway. They have set no boundaries for her. She probably lives like a 25 year old.

A 13-year-old Union City girl who went missing on New Year's Eve has
been found, her stepfather said, but authorities are still searching for
two other Hudson County residents who were reported missing over the
long holiday weekend.

Zion Hyde, 13, was located at about 6:45 p.m., Dean Wolfe said on a
Facebook page he and a friend had set up called "Find Zion Hyde."


"Zion has been found — safe and well. Thank you everyone for your support and help," he said on Facebook.


Wolfe said that she has taken off in the past. Details of how or
where she was located were not available last night. Wolfe and family
friend Eric Fleming had posted fliers in Union City and Jersey City with
the help of about a dozen volunteers.
