JALYCE BINEGAR - Non-custodial Abduction - 10 yo girl/ Suspect: Genevette Garner - Idaho Falls ID

Idaho State Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 10-year old Idaho Falls girl who was last seen Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the mother of victim does not have custody of the child but they think she took the child and the title to a red 2002 Dodge Stratus and may be headed to Mexico.

They say the child left a note for her grandmother asking her to return her books to school.

The suspect, 31-year old Genevette Garner has history of mental illness but has recently ceased treatment. She has also abducted her daughter before.

THE SUSPECT IS GENEVETTE JOELY GARNER; SHE IS AGE 31, 5 FEET 2 INCHES AND 140 POUNDS. SHE HAS BLOND OR STRAWBERRY BLOND HAIR AND BLUE EYES. THE SUSPECT VEHICLE IS A RED 2002 DODGE STRATUS FOUR DOOR SEDAN WITH IDAHO US PLATES LICENSE: 8 B B V 3 6 1. SHE WAS LAST SEEN AT 1320 N. PORTAL STONE RUN, IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO.

MOTHER OF VICTIM DOES NOT HAVE CUSTODY OF THE CHILD BUT TOOK THE CHILD AND THE TITLE TO THE VEHICLE POSSIBLY HEADED TO MEXICO. THE CHILD LEFT A NOTE FOR HER GRANDMOTHER ASKING HER TO RETURN HER BOOKS TO SCHOOL. MOTHER HAS HISTORY OF MENTAL ILLNESS BUT HAS RECENTLY CEASED TREATMENT. SHE HAS ALSO ABDUCTED HER DAUGHTER BEFORE.

Amber Alert canceled, Idaho Falls girl found safe in Utah

IDAHO FALLS -- The Amber Alert for a 10-year-old
Idaho Falls girl was canceled when she was located in St. George, Utah,
Wednesday morning with her mother, according to the Bonneville County
Sheriff's Office.

Jalyce Binegar was taken from a home on N. Portal Stone Run in Idaho Falls Tuesday evening.

According to the Amber Alert, her mother, Genevette Garner, was not
supposed to have custody of her daughter. She has a history of mental
illness and recently stopped treatment. Garner had abducted her
daughter before.

Jalyce left a note for her grandmother, asking her to return her
books to school. According to the alert, Garner took Jalyce, a car and
its title, and they could be headed toward Mexico.

The Utah Highway Patrol found the mother and daughter around 9:30
a.m. in St. George, Utah. The girl is okay and will be returned to her
custodial grandmother.

Her mother, Genevette Garner, was taken into custody and charges are
being filed with the Bonneville County Prosecutor’s Office for felony
child custodial interference.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office credited numerous agencies for
helping locate the child and her mother, including the Utah Highway
Patrol, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, The
Texas Dept. of Law Enforcement, the United States Marshall’s Service,
the United States Border Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,
and local law enforcement agencies.
