A Monticello mother and stepdad are behind bars on murder charges in the suspected child abuse death of the woman's two-year-old daughter.

Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation unit arrested the Drew County couple last night for the death of Aubriana Coke.

Daniel Pedraza, 23, and Victoria Pedraza, 21, both of 630-A Old Highway 13 North, are charged with capital felony murder.

The child died Monday morning after being taken from the couple's home to Drew Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The couple is being held at the Drew County Jail.

An investigation of the murder is continuing.
