KAYLA CHADWICK - 17 yo - Fort Morgan (NE of Denver) CO
Seventeen year old Kayla Chadwick has been missing from the Fort
Morgan, Colorado area since March 27th of this year. Detectives are
seeking help in locating the missing girl, but it doesn't appear that
any tips are leading them in positive directions. Where could this young
woman be? Is she missing on her own free will or was she abducted like
so many other young girls?
Kayla
Chadwick was last seen around a rural stretch of County Road (R7) in
Fort Morgan, Colorado. She reportedly had an argument with her boyfriend
around the time and vanished soon after her last sighting. Since this
region of her last sighting is so rural, it would be interesting to know
if the young woman had been on foot or if this sighting is simply going
by the words of her boyfriend or another witness.
It's
also not reported whether or not Kayla has a history of running away,
so it's hard to tell whether or not this young girl may be gone on her
own will or if she is the victim of foul play or abduction.

Re: KAYLA CHADWICK - 17 yo - Fort Morgan (NE of Denver) CO
Come home" was the message at the candlelight vigil
for Kayla Chadwick, a 17-year-old girl who has been missing for three
weeks.
Candles and about 100 supporters spread out all over
Fort Morgan City Park, lighting the way for Chadwick to come home, one
speaker said.
Chadwick was last seen about 11 p.m. on March 27
after a fight with her boyfriend in the 19500 block of Morgan County
Road R.7, said friend Chastity Houser during the ceremony.
Chadwick was expected to walk home after that but never came home.
Houser
quoted Morgan County Sheriff Jim Crone, who has pleaded with people to
come forward if they know something about why Chadwick is missing. Every
hour she is missing increases the chances she will be harmed or never be seen again. "Kayla, every day we wonder if you are OK," Houser said. "We'll never stop searching until you come home."
Houser
thanked the media for its coverage and others for their donations of
fliers to publicize the missing girl, and asked people to continue
letting people know about Chadwick.
Music such as "A Mother's Prayer," "Come Home" and "So Far Away" played while the crowd held candles on the windy night.
Houser
read a poem written by Chadwick's mother, Robin Adams. In one stanza,
it said, "Wherever a lost child may be tonight, I let one candle burn."
Although Adams had planned to speak, she was too emotional.
For a long time, no one said anything.
";We can't even imagine how her family is feeling," said Bobbi Meng.
One of the hardest unanswered questions is "where is she," Meng said.
Those who love her need to reach out to God and ask God's help in finding Chadwick, Meng said before reading from scripture.
"We lift this mother to you this day," Meng said.
"We are going to pray that Kayla will be safe, and she will come home to us," Meng said.
She also asked the crowd to pray for all those who are searching for Chadwick, including law officers.
Chadwick has been considered both an endangered runaway and missing
person, and law enforcement officials still do not have any information
that tells what has happened to her, Houser said. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that she was taken against her will.
Anyone with information on Chadwick should contact the Fort Morgan Police Department at 970-867-5678.
Crimestoppers is offering a $500 reward for information about the whereabouts of Chadwick.
Callers remain anonymous when reporting to Crimestoppers.

About 100 volunteers searched around Fort Morgan on Saturday for a 17-year-old girl who's been missing nearly a month. An organizer said volunteers spent hours in four areas around the city for Kayla Marie Chadwick. Friends have created a Facebook page, Bring Kayla Chadwick Home."She's
classified as a missing, endangered person at this point. We're just
doing everything we can to locate her," said Det. Todd Zwetzig, Ft.
Morgan police spokesman.Despite searching for nearly 12 hours, volunteers found no trace of Kayla, something her mother took as a good sign."Which
is a blessing from God. Knowing she's not there is a relief. But then
the question arises; where is she?" Robin Adams, Kayla's mother told
7NEWS.One possibility is that the teenager ran away, something her mother says has happened before."Yes. 2 years ago. She was going out with a boy that I didn't approve of," Adams said. Also
Saturday, Morgan County Sheriff Jim Crone told 7NEWS Kayla got into a
physical altercation with her boyfriend on March 27, but that "he was
not the offender.""Granted, that's a one-sided account so far,"
Crone said, adding that a family member of the boyfriend or family
members were present during the altercation with Chadwick."This is not simply a girl that vanished off a street corner," Crone said. His investigators believe the teen did run away, but Crone emphasized no conclusions have been drawn.Chadwick was last seen on the night of March 27 in the 19500 block of County Road R.7, police said.Ft.
Morgan police, Morgan County sheriff's investigators and the FBI are
working in close contact with each other on the case, Zwetzig said.Chadwick is 5-feet 5-inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. A reward fund has been set up at Key Bank of Fort Morgan for information leading to the whereabouts of Kayla Chadwick.
At last report, $1,500 -- $500 from Crime Stoppers, the rest from local and former local residents -- had been offered for information leading to her whereabouts.
Friends and family are planning two searches later this week, one Wednesday and one Saturday.
Both will begin at 9 a.m. at Jensen Onion at E. Riverview Avenue and Barlow Road.
Last Saturday more than 100 people combed Morgan County most of the day on foot, on all-terrain vehicles, on horseback and by helicopter but did not find anything.
Area law enforcement agencies have not ruled out the possibilities that she has run away, been a victim of foul play or is being held against her will.
Friends and family do not believe that she has run away, saying she had good grades, had enrolled in college and wanted to become a nurse.
Chadwick, 17, was last seen at about 11 p.m. on March 27 on Morgan County Road R.7 -- E. Eighth Avenue -- after a fight with her boyfriend.
He has been interviewed and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
She is 5-foot-5, weighs about 135 pounds and has brown eyes and red hair with black tips. Her ears and tongue are pierced, and she has a tattoo on one ankle.
She was last seen wwering a black spaghetti-strap tank top under a white and blue checkered button down shirt, blue jeans with the left leg cut mid-calf and black leggings underneath and black DC shoes.
Those with information are asked to contact the Fort Morgan Police Department at 867-5678 or at Crime Stoppers (tips can be left anonymously) at 542-3411 or by going to cityoffortmorgan.com and selecting the Crime Stoppers tab on the home page.

Re: KAYLA CHADWICK - 17 yo - Fort Morgan (NE of Denver) CO
Fort Morgan Police continue to be frustrated in their
investigation into the whereabouts of a missing 17-year-old Fort Morgan
girl, and are still asking for the public's help.
Crime Stoppers and private businesses and citizens have brought the
reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Kayla Chadwick to
$7,500 -- $7,000 of it from private businesses and citizens.
Although investigators are still receiving daily tips, there have been no reported breakthroughs in the 34-day search.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort Morgan
Police Department at 867-5678 or Crime Stoppers (tips can be left
anonymously) at 542-3411 or by going to cityoffortmorgan.com and selecting the Crime Stoppers tab on the home page.
In recent weeks dozens of tips have been investigated, raising
hopes each time that this could be the tip that may lead to Chadwick,
but none so far has been successful. Fort Morgan Police, aided by the
FBI and Morgan County Sheriff's Department, have met regularly and are
reassessing what they need to do to find the teenager, a senior at Fort
Morgan High School.
Chadwick has been missing since March 27. Several searches around
the area by family and friends, including a massive search on foot,
all-terrain vehicles and horseback and using a helicopter, have not
turned up any significant information or clues.
Fort Morgan Chief of Police Keith Kuretich said he was hopeful that the reward would motivate someone to call in.
"Every tip that we get indicates that she's alive and well," he said.
Family and friends have said that they do not believe Chadwick has run away.
She was last seen at about 11 p.m. March 27 in the 19500 block of

Police have followed up leads all over the state of Colorado and
the Front Range, as well as the State of Washington, looking at every
possible scenario and not eliminating any of them nor focusing more on
any one than another.
"This has been a very frustrating case for the family, community
and police," said Kuretich. "In fact, the community has been very
responsive and has been assisting in doing searches around Fort Morgan
and Morgan County since Kayla's disappearance."

this could be the tip that may lead to Chadwick, but none so far has
been successful. Fort Morgan Police, aided by the FBI and Morgan County
Sheriff's Department, have met regularly and are reassessing what they
need to do to find the teenager, a senior at Fort Morgan High School.
Kayla was reported missing from the Fort Morgan area after being last
seen in the area of the 19500 block of County Road R.7 (East 8th Avenue)
in the late evening hours of March 27, 2012. She was last seen wearing
blue jeans, a plaid shirt covering a black lace spaghetti strap shirt,
and black shoes. She is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing
135 pounds, having red hair with black tips and brown eyes.
She had recently been involved
in an argument with her boyfriend, according to police. The boyfriend
has been interviewed and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police have followed up leads all over the state of Colorado and the
Front Range, as well as the State of Washington, looking at every
possible scenario and not eliminating any of them nor focusing more on
any one than another.
“This has been a very frustrating case
for the family, community and police,” said Fort Morgan Police Chief
Keith Kuretich. “In fact, the community has been very responsive and has
been assisting in doing searches around Fort Morgan and Morgan County
since Kayla's disappearance.”
The community has also been
contributing to a growing reward fund for information that might lead to
Kayla. The reward for information in the case is now $7,500, with
$7,000 of that from private donations and a $500 reward from Crime
Stoppers.
Kuretich said he hopes to continue to add additional
ways for the public to send tips to law enforcement. The local Crime
Stoppers telephone line is 970-542-3411 or anyone with information can
call the police department at 970-867-5678. You can also report
anonymously by going to www.cityoffortmorgan.com and select the “Crime Stoppers” tab on the left side of the home page.
More searches continue to be organized by the local
community and the next is slated for Saturday, May 5. Search parties
will meet at 9 a.m. at the Jensen Onion building located on the corner
of Riverview Avenue and Barlow Road in Fort Morgan, just off exit 82.
Organizers are asking those who attend to supply dogs, horses, ATVs,
kayaks or even canoes if possible.

attempts to find leads on Kayla. Bottled water is also needed.
Several activities (such as a bounce house, vendor booths and face
painting) and refreshments are planned at the search and fundraiser.

that law enforcement is very much involved in continuing to follow up
and making progress in piecing together evidence to figure out what happened to Kayla.

The Fort Morgan Times
FORT MORGAN — The Fort Morgan Police Department told the Fort Morgan Times that the boyfriend of missing teenager Kayla Chadwick has been arrested on four counts of perjury, one count of tampering with physical evidence and trying to influence a public servant.
Ivan Torralba, 19, of Fort Morgan was arrested on Nov. 8 about 1:22 p.m.
He is being held in the Logan County Jail on $250,000 bond.
Kayla Chadwick was reported missing in March. It was reported that Chadwick was last seen after an argument with her boyfriend.
A grand jury was convened to investigate her disappearance.
As a result, Torralba was arrested as a result of the "investigation" part of the disappearance, but not necessarily connected with the disappearance itself.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited children has listed Chadwick as an "endangered runaway" after months have passed since her disappearance.

Re: KAYLA CHADWICK - 17 yo - Fort Morgan (NE of Denver) CO
STERLING -- The bond for the boyfriend of missing Fort Morgan teen Kayla Chadwick was lowered Thursday in Logan County District Court.
Eighteen-year-old Ivan Torralba, of Fort Morgan, faces charges of tampering with physical evidence, attempting to influence a public servant and four counts of first-degree perjury.
Attorneys disclosed scraps of information about Torralba detailing his personal life, criminal history and the grand jury investigation against him before Judge Michael Singer moved discussion to a conference room.
When they emerged, Torralba's $250,000 bond was reduced to $75,000 and the court set a status conference for Jan. 24, 2013.
Kayla Chadwick, 18, was last seen in late March after an argument with Torralba. A grand jury convened to investigate her disappearance and later found there was probable cause to believe Torralba had interfered with the investigation by destroying, tampering or removing evidence.
In this case, according to court arguments, the grand jury found evidence the defendant may have moved or hidden a gun used as evidence.
They indicted Torralba, and he was arrested Nov. 8.
Defense attorney Thor Bauer requested a bond reduction, citing the suspect's local ties to northeast Colorado, his low financial means and the fact that the top charges he faces -- the perjury counts -- are only a class 4 felony.
He described Torralba as a lifelong Colorado resident, born in Greeley, whose whole family lives within either Weld County or Morgan County. Torralba graduated from Fort Morgan High School with honors, he added, held a position as a welder at Delta Oil Field and takes care of his 13-year-old sister when his mother works night shifts.
Assistant District Attorney Brittny Lewton objected to a reduction, arguing that Torralba had a lengthy juvenile criminal history, including once being caught possessing a weapon on school property, two prior probation violations and three minor in possession charges.
She also cited the gravity of the allegations against Torralba and the danger he posed to the community.
"He lied to a grand jury," she said. "The proof of that is fairly significant."
Bauer said the defendant had been "completely cooperative" with investigators and had made several statements.
Because the information involved in the grand jury investigation is secret -- and because the investigation is ongoing -- Singer requested additional information about Torralba outside of the courtroom. The exact reason for the bond reduction wasn't disclosed after the conference, but Lewton said $250,000 was a "very high bond" for a class 4 felony and that she wasn't surprised by Singer's decision.
Torralba would also be monitored with a GPS tracker as a condition of the bond.
Though the investigation continues, evidence has not yet shown that Torralba committed a crime against Kayla Chadwick or is linked to her disappearance.

This guy does not come off as good boyfriend material. And apparently he lied about a gun? There seems to be a conflict between what he is charged with and "being completely cooperative". IMO this does not bode well for this girl. Hope I am wrong.
