"Baby John" ROCK - 15 Months/ Accused: Mother-Jodi Rock - Tahlequah OK

19-year-old Jodi Rock from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, has been charged with
felony injury to a minor child after after admitting to police she
intentionally burned her 15-month-old son’s genitals with a hair
straightening iron.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by Tulsa World,
Rock allegedly confessed to police that she burned her son’s genitals
with a flat iron hair straightener. She told them that she was
straightening her hair and that she touched her hand to the iron then
she took and closed the iron’s clamps on the toddler’s genitals. The
toddler had three burns across the genital area, starting on the inside
of his right thigh across his testicles and on to the left inner thigh.

This may not have been the first instance of abuse. According to the
affidavit, several fractures were found on the child’s his left
shoulder and 12-week-old fractures were found on his right shoulder.
Additionally, the affidavit states that the child also had forearm and
wrist fractures that were somewhere between a day-old and 12-weeks-old
and the bones in the forearm and wrists had never been properly set.

According to observations made by investigators, the toddler to be
“glassy eyed” and “withdrawn” and his shoulder had a deformity. The
affidavit states that the child appeared to be in “agony.”

Rock is being held at the Cherokee County jail on $200,000 bail.

I suspect she bears endless resentment against a probably absentee sperm donor for saddling her with this anchor while she's so young.
It takes two to tango asshat and you opened your legs.

- A Cherokee County prosecutor said Tuesday that he plans to seek to
terminate the parental rights of a woman who is accused of burning her
son's genitals with a hair-straightening iron.
Jodi Rock, 19, of Tahlequah was charged Tuesday in Cherokee County
District Court with child abuse by injury and enabling child abuse by
injury, both felonies. Both charges are punishable by life in prison.
The boy is in state custody.
District Attorney Brian Kuester said the lengthy process of terminating
Rock's parental rights involves many issues and agencies.
Rock confessed to investigators that she burned her 15-month-old son's
genitals with a flat-iron hair straightener, according to an arrest affidavit.
She reportedly was straightening her hair when she touched her hand to
the iron and then took and closed the iron's clamps on her son's
genitals, the affidavit says.
The toddler was "glassy eyed" and "withdrawn," investigators wrote in
the affidavit after seeing the child at the Tahlequah City Hospital.
His shoulder had a deformity, and the child appeared to be "in agony," the affidavit states.
Authorities were notified about the abuse by hospital officials.
The child had three burns across the genital area, the affidavit states.
Several fractures of his left shoulder were noted, and 12-week-old
fractures were found on his right shoulder, according to the affidavit.
The child also had forearm and wrist fractures, and some of those bones
had never been set properly, the affidavit states.
Rock is accused of letting Sammy Duvall, her boyfriend, care for the
toddler at the time the boy's shoulder was broken, court records state.
No charges have been filed against Duvall, according to Doug Dry, an assistant district attorney.
"The investigation is still ongoing," he said.
Duvall, 23, of Tahlequah is wanted by the Cherokee County Sheriff's
Office on outstanding warrants for feloniously pointing a firearm,
assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and several counts of
domestic abuse, assault and battery and injury to property, court records state.
Rock is in the Cherokee County Jail with bail set at $200,000.
