"Baby John" BAKER - Rock Hill (E of Spartanburg) SC

An injured baby boy's father faces abuse charges after the
bruised infant with bleeding on his brain was taken to a Rock Hill
hospital.Coree Baker, 19, of Janay Court was charged with
infliction of great bodily harm on a child, a Rock Hill police document
shows. The 7-week-old baby’s injuries are consistent with shaken baby
syndrome.EMS took the baby Piedmont Medical Center with bruising
to the face, shoulder, wrist and legs, according to a Rock Hill police
report. The child was lethargic, having trouble breathing and would only
respond to pain stimuli. A CAT Scan showed the baby had bleeding on his
brain, the report states.



The child’s dad, Baker, was with him all night before he was
transported to the hospital, the report said.The baby is in
intensive care at Carolinas Medical Center Thursday, Rock Hill Police
Lt. Brad Redfearn said.After an investigation, officers issued a
warrant for Baker’s arrest.
