A 24-year-old Orlando man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his two-month-old son.

Eddie Lee Daniels was booked into the Orange County Jail on Saturday, a day after his son was pronounced dead at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children
because of a closed head wound. An autopsy determined that the child
had "frontal bulging and retinal hemorrhaging behind the eyes, which
were both preliminary indicators of possible abuse."

Orlando police say Daniels was the only person with the infant for the
final five hours of his life and was unable to explain how the baby, who
also had a broken leg, was injured.

Daniels, who called 911, denied ever dropping, spanking or
striking the child and insisted that the baby had shown no signs of
distress prior to becoming unresponsive. But other family members told
investigators that Daniels "has a bad temper" and had spanked his nieces
and nephews before, according to an arrest report.

Police: Orlando man kills 2-month-old son

ORLANDO, Fla. —

Orlando police say a man has been arrested and charged with murder after his two-month-old son died Friday afternoon.

24-year-old Eddie Daniels called 911 on Friday to report that his infant son was
unresponsive. The baby was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital where he was
pronounced deceased, according to police.

A medical examiner determined that the baby died from a head injury and also had a broken leg.
Police say Daniels was alone with the infant for most of the day on Friday, but he denied ever injuring the child.

The mother of the two-month-old, who lives in south Florida, told police
that she had allowed the baby to stay with Daniels for two weeks.

Daniels remains in the Orange County jail with no bond.

An Orlando man accused of killing his 2-month-old son this weekend is a
violent felon who has beaten women and children in the past, records show.
Eddie Lee Daniels, 24, is charged with first-degree murder
in the death of his infant son, Achilles Daniels, who died Saturday. The
baby was visiting Daniels for two weeks when he was killed. Police say
the boy's femur was fractured and he died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Posters note: The mother(who chose to breed with this violent crim???) should be charged for neglect leaving an infant with him. She may as well have left the baby lying in the middle of the highway. At least this innocent baby doesn't have to grow up in a living hell and become like his useless parents. That would have been a fate worse than death.

i agree. i cant imagine letting my tiny baby out of my sight for 14 minutes much less 14 days!

This mother needs to be arrested. Did she allow that man to have her baby because she knew his temper and what he would do?

There is no excuse for allowing this baby to be murdered.
