Lavergne files complaint, reportedly on hunger strike

The man convicted in the murders of Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate has reportedly gone on a hunger strike while in prison.
Officials say Brandon Scott Lavergne sent a handwritten complaint to the District Attorney's Office about his living conditions while imprisoned at Angola.
Lavergne reportedly said he is being kept in solitary confinement for political reasons for not showing enough remorse in Shunick's murder.
Lavergne also said he started his hunger strike last Sunday in protest.
Mickey Shunick was the ULL Lafayette student who was abducted and killed last year while riding her bicycle home.
Lavergne is serving a life sentence.
