INDIRA MORALES - 2 yo/ Accused: Daniel Edmonds - Hagerstown MD

A 27-year-old man was charged this week with beating a 2-year-old
girl who suffered broken ribs and possibly a broken jaw, according to
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Daniel Keith Edmonds, of
no fixed address, is charged with first-degree child abuse and
first-degree assault, both of which carry maximum sentences of 25 years
in prison, according to Washington County District Court records.
Edmonds also is charged with second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault, the records said.
District Judge Dana Moylan Wright raised Edmonds’ bail from $150,000 to $350,000 during a bond review hearing Friday.
Assistant
Public Defender Catherine Pugh had asked Wright to lower the bond,
telling her the charges were based primarily on the statement made by
the child’s mother.
A sheriff’s deputy was called to Meritus
Medical Center for a report Wednesday morning of child abuse, where a
doctor said that the child, Indira Yadina Morales, had bruising to her
head and body, and possible broken ribs, according to the application
for statement of charges.
