Baby’s Body Found at Recycling Plant

ROCKFORD, Ill. — An investigation is underway after workers at an Illinois recycle plant find a baby’s body in the trash. John Silverio and his co-workers say they noticed the body when it came down the conveyor belt.
“It’s just hard seeing a dead baby like that,” Silverio said.
He said they often see unexpected things mixed in with the trash, but nothing like this.
“Usually, we just come by animals, like raccoons and stuff like that but never encountered something like that,” he said.
Sheriff’s deputies are trying to figure out how the baby died as well as to identify the baby and find its family.
“There’s a tremendous amount of garbage that’s here,” said Deputy Chief Dominic Iasparro. “We’re going to be going through that to try to determine if we can find out where this baby may have come from.”
For now, the case is being treated as a homicide. Although the baby’s body was found on Friday, police say it could’ve been dropped off on Thursday. Police are now waiting on autopsy results.

That's just sad. Not to love a child or even respect it's body. Just to throw it in the trash. Even if the family is poor the child should have been treated with respect.

Autopsy: Baby Found Dead On Recycling Conveyor Belt Was Likely Born Alive
July 17, 2012 12:44 PM
ROCKFORD, Ill. (CBS) — Autopsy results are in on a newborn boy whose body was found on a recycling center conveyor belt near Rockford last week.
As WBBM Newsradio’s Steve Miller reports, the baby has been named Noah, in an effort to give his death some dignity, says Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia.
His body was found on a conveyor belt in the Total Waste Recycling center in the town of Roscoe this past Friday.
“The doctor examined the body, determined that it was a full-term baby; determined that there were no abnormalities or congenital defects in the body,” Fiduccia said. “So all indications are that it probably was born alive.”
Fiduccia says they also know the baby was Caucasian.
She says Winnebago County detectives are working to find the family – and specifically the mother.
“They’re going to shelters and rehab centers because there’s a possibility that maybe mom is on drugs. I don’t know,” she said.
Fiduccia says authorities also took DNA from the baby – in hopes of matching him to someone.

I am just appalled that there is someone out there who would just throw an infant away like trash.
