PLANT CITY—
Police say a 30-year-old Florida woman confessed to killing her 5-week-old son, saying he was the devil.
In an affidavit released Wednesday, Plant City detectives said they found Talae Thomas' son Chase Harrison floating dead in her apartment's bathtub last week.
She told them that her baby had died at the hospital shortly after birth and that she knew the child she brought home was the devil because he talked to her.
Police say Thomas confessed to drowning the baby Nov. 15 to kill the devil. Her family said she suffered a breakdown four years ago and often had hallucinations.
Thomas is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail on first-degree murder charges.

Snipped from the above article: "Her family said she suffered a breakdown four years ago and often had hallucinations."
If her family knew she was mentally deranged, why didn't they do something to protect the baby? How can you allow a person with this background to take care of an infant?

Why was she allowed to get pregnant? Where is the father?
Her family knew she was mentally deranged and still allowed her to have a baby and be alone with it. This is criminal.

Woman, Talae Thomas of Plant City, arrested for murder of her 5-week-old son

Plant City, FL-- Plant City Police officials arrested 30-year-old Talae Akei Thomas on charges of First Degree Murder and Child Abuse today after they say they found her five-week-old son deceased in her home.
On Thursday evening, police responded to the area of West Grant St. and South Alexander St. after receiving a "suspicious person call".
That's when they reportedly found Thomas laying in the median. She told officers she needed to go to the hospital for medical treatment because she had lost her baby.
Officials transported Thomas to South Florida Baptist Hospital, and then went to her home to notify her family of the situation.
Officers say they found the front door to Thomas' home ajar. After receiving no response at the door, they entered the home and discovered Thomas' five-week old child, Chase James Urijah Harrison, deceased.
Investigative evidence from the scene and statements made by Thomas lead officials to believe the child died as a result of criminal activity, reports say.
The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy this morning, though results are still pending.
Detectives arrested Thomas late this afternoon and charged her with Aggravated Child Abuse and First Degree Murder in connection with the death of Harrison.
She is now at the Orient Road Jail.

This isn't new but has her listed as being in a different jail. Also some different info about being found on the median strip. Below is a picture of her with newborn Chase where she seems to be enjoying him. Very good question about "where the father was".
