KAYDEN THOMAS - 6 Weeks (2010)/ Charged: Father; Christopher Thomas - Vincennes (SW of Indy) IN

A Vincennes man has been arrested for abusing his six-week-old son.
Christopher Thomas, 26, is in the Knox County jail under $25,000 bond.
Police were called to Thomas's house at 2223 N. 2nd Street late Tuesday night.
They found young Kayden Thomas unresponsive.  Resuscitation efforts began and he was taken to
Good Samaritan Hospital.  He was ultimately taken to St. Mary's Hospital
in Evansville with life-threatening injuries.  The baby's condition has not been released.
Thomas was preliminarily charged with Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury to a Child under Age 14, a Class B felony.

Charges against a father accused of beating his infant son to death
were increased Thursday. 26-year-old Christopher Thomas of Vincennes now
faces a charge of battery on a child causing death. Originally he had
been charged with child abuse causing bodily injury. But when his son
died, prosecutors increased the charge against him. Six week old Kayden
Thomas, died two days after emergency crews responded to the home for a
report of a child not breathing.
