Babysitter arrested for child abuse
Orange County deputies arrested Carrie Levi, accusing her of abusing a child she was babysitting.

ORLANDO -- Orange County deputies arrested a woman accused of abusing a child she was babysitting.

Deputies arrested Carrie Levi, 58, Saturday.

They say multiple witnesses saw Levi grab the boy and drag him out of a house and push him up against a porch column by the neck. They also say Levi hit the boy with a shoe.

Deputies got an anonymous phone call and went to the house to investigate. They say when they got to the house, the boy started crying and shaking and ran away. They were eventually able to get him to calm down.

While there were no visible marks on the boy, he did complain about the back of his neck hurting. He said his head was "smashed."

Deputies say Levi admitted to dragging him out of a house, but denied pushing him by the neck into the column. She also admitted to drinking two beers throughout the day.

Deputies charged Levi with aggravated child abuse and aggravated battery.
