Fla. man accused of repeatedly raping 8-year-old girl denied bail

Brian Arnett, 51, of Port Orange, Fla. was arrested and charged last March after an 8-year-old girl confided to a friend of the family that Arnett had been repeatedly raping and molesting her for over a year. Arnett was in court on April 18 requesting bail, and was denied.

MESH reported that Arnett and his family were friends of the 8-year-old victim and her mother.

The suspected child rapist has a daughter approximately the same age as the victim that he’s accused of raping. The two girls often spent time together at Arnett’s home in Port Orange.

Police say that the 8-year-old victim told them that she was raped for the first time over a year ago, during her second visit to Arnett’s home.

The little girl told police that Arnett said he’d kill her and her mother if she ever told anyone of the continued rapes.

He would often hit her if she was uncooperative, according to authorities.

"We have no doubt," said Port Orange police Capt. David Meyers. "We've got definitely a lot of evidence on this."

The Port Orange police went on to say that Arnett would “get the victim alone to rape her, touch her, force her to watch pornography, and even hit her when she wouldn't cooperate.”

Brian Arnett will be held without bond and will remain incarcerated for now.

So she was 7 when the pig began raping her. Dear heavens, how can a man be so evil? How could the parents not notice a change in her?

One good thing, her age makes this a capital offense in Florida.
