Bronx mom, boyfriend admit to beating toddler before death: authorities
Sherika Stewart, Leon Walters told cops they beat Ahnya Louis-Hardy, 3, in their Fieldston apartment before the child died.

Sherika Stewart’s daughter was rushed from this home to the hospital, where she died on Sunday.
A Bronx mother and her boyfriend admitted to beating the woman’s 3-year-old daughter with a belt before the child died, prosecutors said.
Sherika Stewart, 22, and Leon Walters, 25, told investigators that they struck little Ahnya Louis-Hardy on her arms and legs in their Fieldston apartment before the child died on Sunday, court papers show.
Stewart and Walters were each booked on a slew of charges that include assault and reckless endangerment. Both were ordered held in lieu of $20,000 bail after they were arraigned on Wednesday.
Prosecutors could increase the charges if the city’s medical examiner determines Ahnya died from the beating.
