Amber Alert issued for Polson toddler

POLSON - Authorities have issued an AMBER Alert for a missing Polson toddler who was abducted from her home Saturday evening.

Police say Lillianah BigCrane, 2, was taken from a house on 9th Avenue East when suspect Jamie Finley entered the home, assaulted the girl's mother and took the child.

Authorities add Finley is under the influence of drugs or alcohol and the little girl is believed to be in danger.

Police have asked people to be on the lookout for Finley, who is believed to be driving a tan, 2004 Dodge Durango, with Montana license #AYS416. Finley, 34, is described as 5' 6" tall, weighing 170 pounds, wearing glasses.

She is an American Indian and also goes by the names Jamie Lynn Smith and Jamie Lynn Tanner-Smith.

Lillianah is 2' tall and weighs 36 pounds with a cigarette burn scar on her forehead. She has long hair with bangs. She was last seen wearing a "Hello Kitty" shift, with a "Dora" sweater and pink "Jordan" shoes.

Anyone spotting the pair is asking to call 911 immediately.

Details emerge in Polson AMBER Alert case

POLSON - Authorities found a missing Polson toddler Sunday morning who was taken from her home, and also arrested the woman who is accused of taking her.

An AMBER Alert was issued for 2-year-old Lillianah BigCrane after she was forcibly taken from her home in Polson on Saturday night.

Police say Jamie Finley, 34, entered the little girl's home, assaulted her mother, and took the child.

Polson Police Chief Wade Nash says they quickly determined an AMBER Alert was necessary, and the notice warned that Finley might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Nash says that Finley and the young girl were found Sunday morning in Sanders County.

"Early [Sunday] morning the suspect vehicle was located in Sanders County.The female and 2-year-old were taken into custody," he said.

"The child was then turned over to the Department of Family Services and the suspect is currently being investigated and interviewed at the Lake County Sheriff's Office by Polson detectives," Nash added.

He says they haven't yet determined the relationship between Finley and the girl or the girl's mother. Nash says police should know more by Monday and adds that's when they'll determine whether charges will be filed.
