Mom, boyfriend charged with assaulting 13-month-old baby
Rochester police charge Amanda Riley, Nicholas Hrvoich with aggravated assault
UPDATED 7:10 PM EDT Sep 30, 2013
ROCHESTER, Pa. —A 13-month-old baby was beaten so severely, police say, that his injuries were life-threatening.
Rochester police said Ian Riley was beaten over a three-week period, and that his mother and her boyfriend are to blame.
"The baby suffered two broken femurs, two broken ankles, two broken arms, two broken wrists, two broken ribs and head trauma," Rochester Police Chief Frank Mercier said.
The baby's mother, Amanda Riley, and her boyfriend, Nicholas Hrvoich, are charged with aggravated assault.
The baby's father, Christian Evans, and Hrovoich's mother, Kimberly Hrvoich, are charged with endangering the welfare of children, for not reporting the abuse.
Mercier said Ian's grandmother in New Jersey called police in Rochester when she suspected something was wrong. Mercier said when officers saw the baby, it was clear he had been abused. Mercier said Riley claimed the injuries were an accident.
"The mother, in her statement to us, said the child fell out of the stroller," Mercier said.
The baby is recovering from his injuries at Children's Hospital. Mercier said Ian will likely be placed in foster care.

Sorry about the graphic pictures of the little guy. I felt I had to post them. This really made me shed tears for the little angel. I just hope and pray this thread does not get moved to Abused resulting in death. William
