Marc Klass: AMBER Alert Needs Overhaul
Marc Klaas speaks out about a broken Amber Alert system.
He makes several good points, however the system will only be as good as the people utilizing it.
I vote for less stringent rule-following and more common sense. It's ridiculous that law enforcement cannot issue an Amber Alert for a missing child unless a witness has physically seen the child being abducted. Cuz, ya know, those 3 year olds are just notorious for stealing cars and taking off.
It's a sad day when we have so many missing children that we have to start talking about how to "perfect" the system that warns us when a child is missing.
