by Ashley Soley-Cerro

Search efforts continued Thursday for an 11-year-old girl who went missing from a children’s shelter in Orange, according to authorities.

BRITTANY GEORGIA MITCHELL - 11 yo (2014) - Orange County CA Missin10

Brittany Georgia Mitchell left the Orangewood Children’s Home on Wednesday with two other girls to go to the “Outlets at Orange,” located across the street, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Department news release.

It was not immediately known if Brittany was allowed to leave the home, which houses children who had been removed from the care of their parents.

The other girls later returned to the home without Brittany.

Brittany was described as 5 feet tall, weighing 110 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

She was wearing all black, with the letters “CA” on the front of her sweatshirt.

Brittany was known to frequent the Anaheim area.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at 714-647-7000 OR 714-936-0763.

Anonymous tips may also be submitted to OC Crime Stoppers at 885-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227) or occrimestoppers.org.

I hope they find this little girl, and I certainly do not want to minimize her disappearance with what I'm about to say.

ONE child goes missing in California from a shelter, and it immediately hits the news and is reported to law enforcement.
