Sebastian Meleca charged with sexual battery of an incapacitated person

An Oviedo man was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly getting two teenage girls intoxicated and then having sex with one of them.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office received information June 29 of possible sexual contact between 23-year-old Sebastian Meleca and a 16-year-old girl.

As the investigation was ongoing, officials discovered that the girl and her 15-year-old friend had met Meleca at a convenience store several weeks prior to the incident. The girls returned to the convenience store to meet Meleca on Friday and went back to his apartment with him, a SCSO report stated.

Meleca allegedly provided the girls with alcohol and both became intoxicated, with the 15-year-old becoming incapacitated, deputies said. Meleca engaged in sexual contact with the 16-year-old girl, the report stated.

In an interview with the SCSO, the 16-year-old told officials she saw Meleca engage in sexual intercourse with her incapacitated friend. The 15-year-old told officials that she remembered consuming alcohol, but did not remember the incident. A medical exam conducted on the 15-year-old was consistent with sexual assault, the report stated.

A search warrant was carried out at Meleca's home Monday night and he was taken into custody by the SCSO Crimes Against Children unit.


He was charged with sexual battery of an incapacitated person and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Meleca was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on a $25,100 bond, which has since been posted, and he is no longer in custody.
