Amber Alert ends in fatal stabbing of baby's father
September 2, 2014
Albuquerque Police; Michael Fox
Albuquerque, New Mexico: A man is dead after trying to rescue his abducted infant, according to this Tuesday news report. The incident took place after the child's parents were given a ride home from a party on Monday by 32-year-old Michael Fox. A female acquaintance was also reportedly with the couple and the driver, who threw the couple out of the car and sped away with their baby strapped inside. When the mother called the police, an Amber Alert was issued, but this is when the details of the story become more tragic.
The female acquaintance that was in the car when the couple were kicked out had been brutally beaten, and the driver of the car (who had the baby) was reportedly at an ABQ gas station. When the family of the missing infant were notified of this information, the baby's father frantically left to rescue the child. Kenneth Boyd (the child's father) confronted the man who took the child, but the confrontation turned deadly when Michael Fox allegedly stabbed Boyd. He was pronounced dead at the hospital after the attack.
The only fortunate detail out of this horrible series of events is the fact that the child is okay. The baby was rescued unharmed, but must now grow up without a father -- and will live the rest of her life without even any memories of the man, just stories of the tragedy that ended in his death.
