'A prisoner in a two-bedroom apartment': Texas dad claims kidnapped girl's mom brainwashed daughter against him

Officials rescued 17-year-old Sabrina Allen on Tuesday, 12 years after her mom kidnapped her as a preschooler and took her to Mexico. Dara Llorens told the girl her father was a wife-beater and committed suicide, Greg Allen said.

She disappeared as a blond preschooler named Sabrina who loved Snow White, Scooby-Doo and her daddy.

She was rescued as a brunette teenager named Fair who thought her dad abandoned her.

Greg Allen has spent a dozen years desperately searching for his daughter Sabrina, who was kidnapped by her mother in 2002 when she was 4 years old. She was finally found in Mexico on Tuesday — but after 12 years in her manipulative mom's care she is "a completely different person," he told ABC News.

After the two fled of Mexico, Dara Llorens "brainwashed" Sabrina against her dad, said Allen — she portrayed him as an evil wife-beater.

"Sabrina has been under an intense campaign to hate me for 12 years," he said "She was effectively a prisoner in a two-bedroom apartment. She has been told that I didn't want her and that I committed suicide."

Sabrina, now 17, grew up in Mexico under fake names, including "Blanquita" and "Fair." Her mother dyed the girl's naturally blond hair to red and then brown as a disguise, Allen said.

Llorens, who was booked into a Texas jail on aggravated kidnapping charges, ran off with the girl in 2002 during a scheduled weekend visit.

Allen, who remarried and had more children after Sabrina's abduction, hired a private investigator and spearheaded a relentless campaign to find Sabrina.

"I was Ahab and the white whale," Allen told CNN.

But not everyone understood his persistent campaign.

"I've had people say, 'Of course, she's with her mother; what's the big deal?' he said.

A small break came in June 2003 when Sabrina and Llorens were spotted in Mexico City, but the duo dashed before they could be captured, police said.

A tip led officials to a small apartment in rural Mexico City on Tuesday. Sabrina was immediately taken back to Texas.

While she's stateside again, Sabrina hasn't seen her dad yet. Instead, she's in victim services' custody and seeing a therapist.

"She's in pretty bad shape, from my understanding," a teary Allen told CNN. "She's just not ready to see me and my family. I hope and pray that's coming soon, and I can't predict it."

Llorens is being held on a $300,000 bond in Austin.
