Mother accused of beating daughter after Texans game

PASADENA, Texas - A mother is accused of beating her daughter after returning from a Houston Texans game on Sunday, according to Pasadena police.

Priscilla Diana Garay and her new husband dropped off Garay’s 12-year-old daughter at her paternal grandmother's house while on their way to the Texans game, said Pasadena police spokesperson Vance Mitchell.

After the game, Garay returned to pick up her daughter, who had gone to a neighbor’s apartment to play.

Garay, who police said was intoxicated, became angry because her daughter was not home, police said.

When her daughter returned, Garay allegedly hit her in the face and head with her fists.

Garay’s brother had to intervene to pull his sister from the child, police said.

Garay was arrested and charged with injury to a child, serious bodily injury.

She was booked into the Harris County Jail and given a $5,000 bond. She is due in court on Tuesday to have an attorney assigned, according to court records.
