A Lake Worth man has been arrested and charged with sexual battery to a child.

42-year-old Jefro Titus Phillips was arrested Saturday after an investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Florida Department of Children and Families.

The victim, a 13-year-old girl, told investigators about sexual abuse that began in 2011.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the abuse was also corroborated by a male child who shared a bunk bed with the victim.

Investigators say the victim admitted that in 2011 she disclosed to a family member that Phillips was sexually abusing her. However, when DCF got involved she denied the allegations because she was afraid.

The victim was examined by a medical doctor, who determined there were positive findings for sexual abuse.

After being read his Miranda warnings, investigators say Phillips initially denied the abuse.

He later confessed to the crimes during a videotaped interview with investigators, according to an affidavit.

Jefro Phillips was charged with six counts of Sexual Battery on a Child less than twelve years of age, 35 other counts of Sexual Battery and one count of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation.

He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
