Foster mother of 17-month-old killed by ex-boyfriend devastated as convicted man is sentenced

A Brooklyn mom sobbed in court Wednesday when speaking of another Christmas she’ll soon celebrate without her foster son as the ex-boyfriend who killed the toddler was sentenced for the sickening crime.

“I miss my son so much,” Teyuanna Cummings said of 17-month-old Kymel Oram, who was beaten to death by Kysheen Oliver in March 2011, just before she could officially adopt the child.

“This will be my fourth Christmas without my son,” she added. “Now I don’t have a Christmas tree.”

Oliver received a sentence that will keep him behind bars anywhere from a few more months to a decade.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Mark Dwyer sentenced him to 4 1/2 to 13 1/2 years in prison, a notch below the maximum. Since the defendant has been locked up for nearly four years, he’ll be up for parole in the fall, although a source said an early release at that point is unlikely.

“I don’t hate him,” Cummings said of her former beau, who was left to baby-sit little Kymel and later admitted he had smacked the baby for soiling the bed. “I know he didn’t mean it.”

Prosecutor Elizabeth Doerfler asked for the max of 5 to 15, telling the judge Oliver “repeatedly assaulted a 17-month-old child.”

“There is no amount of time that can bring justice in this case,” she added. “We can’t bring Kymel back. We can’t repair this family.”

These babies don't die from their first beatings.  These brutes get by with it, allowed and condoned by the mother they continue to torture these poor babies until they finally murder them.

IMO this woman should be in prison.

Another POS mother.  Another POS man.  Another dead baby.
