Search underway for missing Merritt Island teen

Brevard County Sheriff's Office investigators are working to locate a 15-year-old teen last seen at the home of her foster parents on Merritt Island.

Investigators say Zoe Skylar Windham, who has connections in Tampa, was reported missing after 11 p.m. Friday and may be in the company of her birth mother, 34-year-old Michelle Windham.

Zoe is described as a possible runaway, although the circumstances behind her disappearance were not immediately released.

Deputies said the mother's parental rights had been terminated by the courts for an unidentified reason.

Tampa police are also involved in the search. Zoe is five feet four inches tall and 165 pounds with brown hair.
