Cannady Children - 2 yo Boy, 5 yo Girl - Cole County MO
COLE COUNTY -- A 2-year-old Cole County boy and
his 5-year-old sister are missing after they were taken from their
mother's backyard by their own father."I
just want somebody to help me find my kids,” said the kids' mother,
Aisha Cannady as she wiped away tears. “I'm just begging please.
Because I love my children and I miss them already. And I did not give
him any permission to take my children away from me."
Aisha Cannady says her estranged ex-boyfriend, Gerry Henderson, 31, who
now lives in St. Louis, came to the Chaddsford West Apartments in Cole
County Saturday to pick up his dog. When she went
inside, Henderson grabbed the kids while they were playing and took
off, police said.
The Cole County Sheriff's Department's now looking for Henderson, who
Cannady says has been physically abusive towards her, breaking her arm
once.
Henderson hasn't been charged with a crime yet although he did violate
a restraining order. Right now police aren't calling it a kidnapping,
since Henderson is the kids' father.Cannaday says
an Amber Alert should've been issued after the children were taken. But
police say they don't believe the kids are in any danger - one of the
requirements for issuing an alert.
Police across the state are being notified to look out for Henderson's
red Chevy Silverado. He's possibly headed back to St. Louis.

E-mail exchange I had with News organization regarding update
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your interest. I haven't personally
followed up with the mother but she did call our station Friday to let us know
they are still missing.
Last I checked, police think the two kids are with
their father somewhere in the St. Louis area. An Amber Alert wasn't issued
because police don't feel the kids are in any danger and because there's no
custody order against the father.
Again thanks for your interest. If I hear anything
new I'll let you know.
Best,
Matt Grant

Subject: Update Request
Hello Mr Grant:
I work with an internet blog that is
dedicated to justice for murdered, missing and endangered children.
I was
hoping you might able to help us close the files on this missing youngster by
providing us with a brief update.
If the child is still missing, to your
knowledge, please let us keep apprised of that as well.
Thanks in advance
for your assistance!
Tom

Thanks for all you do here for all these missing kids Ovie The mother is behind the eight ball with this one because it doesn't sound as if she filed charges against him when he broke her arm, just a protection order, and then didn't apply for custody of the children either. I suppose she hasn't got the money to hire a private detective to find them. Good job for Lp. He could find them fairly easily I expect but I doubt it's high profile enough for him.oviedo45 wrote:i emailed the reporter again to check in with him - no updates on them reuniting with their mother or anything about their father kidnapping them and taking them to st louis possibly

i believe she had custody - they weren't married - so i am not sure what legal rights he had over the kids.
