BARAJAS Children (4) - 17, 12, 7, 4 - Sheridan OR Empty BARAJAS Children (4) - 17, 12, 7, 4 - Sheridan OR

Post by TomTerrific0420 Fri Jul 31, 2009 4:20 pm

Four children who ran away in the small town of Sheridan are being sought by Yamhill County deputies. The
Department of Human Services took the children into protective custody
after allegations surfaced of misconduct affecting the children. The
children were then placed in a foster home, said sheriff's deputies. On
Saturday, the four children were walking to a grocery store when they
suddenly ran away together on foot. Sheriff Jack Crabtree said it's
unreasonable to believe the children "orchestrated this on their own." "They
had to have had assistance," Crabtree said. "Due to the nature of the
children's placement into foster care, I am very concerned for their
safety." Pablo Barajas, 4; Diana Barjaas, 7;
Marisol Barajas, 12; and Miriam Barajas, 17, have been entered into
Oregon and national law enforcement computers as missing children.
Deputies and the children's foster parents searched the area without
any luck after they were reported missing.

BARAJAS Children (4) - 17, 12, 7, 4 - Sheridan OR Empty Barajas Children - FOUND SAFE

Post by TomTerrific0420 Sat Aug 01, 2009 11:46 am

Yamhill County sheriff's deputies have found four siblings who went missing Saturday in Sheridan.
The children were found today in Lafayette, about 20 miles away.
Sheriff Jack Crabtree said it's unclear where they had been since
bolting together as they walked to a Sheridan grocery store.
The children had recently been taken into
protective custody and placed in a foster home while an allegation of
custodial misconduct was investigated.
Missing were 4-year-old Pablo Barajas, 7-year-old Diana Barajas,
12-year-old Marisol Barajas and 17-year-old Miriam Segovia Barajas. All
seemed to be in good health, Crabtree said.

Detectives are interviewing the children now.
The sheriff's office worked with the Oregon Department of Justice and FBI agents to find the Barajas children.
Authorities believe the siblings could not have orchestrated the disappearance on their own.
"They had to have had assistance," Crabtree said.
Crabtree said if adults were involved in the disappearance, they may face criminal charges.
