A Des Moines mother is accused of nearly dropping
her infant son while drunk in a west-side bar two
days before the boy died, according to Des Moines
police records.

Polk County prosecutors allege Tammy Sue Hill, 27,
was so intoxicated at Wellman's Pub last month that
she urinated herself and nearly dropped her 2-
month-old, Dean Ray Sheridan, on Jan. 16.

The boy was found dead at his grandfather's rural
Indianola home Jan. 18.

Hill faces two charges of child neglect following the
bar incident. A second child was in her care at the
time of the incident, police said.

Warren County sheriff's detectives have said they
don't believe foul play was involved in the baby's
death. A cause of death is pending an autopsy
report from the state medical examiner.

Hill pleaded guilty to a child endangerment charge
in a May 2007 case. She received a suspended two-
year jail sentence, credit for time served in the Polk
County Jail, and $3,372 in fines, according to Iowa
court records.
