A 14-year-old Huntsville girl was reported missing last Monday
after a neighbor told police he saw her enter a vehicle occupied by two
black males on the morning of Aug. 9 and leave the apartment complex
where she lives.
Christina Beamon, a freshman at Huntsville High
School, was last seen by the neighbor who spoke with police and has not
been seen or heard from since then. Her mother called Huntsville police
and reported her daughter missing the following day.
According
to Huntsville Police Department Detective Eric Scott, Beamon has not
had any contact with anyone since her disappearance and has not made
any attempts to contact her mother or anyone else.
“I spoke
with some of her friends and nobody has seen or heard from her,” Scott
said. “If anybody has seen her or heard from her, they need to contact
the police department so we can get her back in contact with her
mother.”
The car that Beamon was last seen getting into is
described as a maroon colored Oldsmobile passenger car with a license
plate possibly ending in 859.
According to Scott, Beamon’s mother did not recognize the description of the vehicle or it’s occupants.
“The
witness said she was out walking the dog, went up the stairs, put the
dog up and ran back down and climbed in the car,” Scott said. “It
wasn’t any type of forcible thing.”
Beamon is described as five
feet tall, 115 pounds, with brown hair a little longer than shoulder
length with a light to fair complexion. Beamon’s mother said she has
run away once before in the past, but returned home within two days.
According to Scott, she is known to frequent Family Faith Church on
Friday nights.
When she was reported missing, Scott said he
contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who
are now putting together a flier to be distributed along with fliers
made by her family.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Huntsville Police Department at (936) 435-8001.

Christina - FOUND SAFE
A 14-year-old freshman at Huntsville High School was found safe and unharmed by Huntsville police Wednesday morning.
HPD Detective Roy Moore said Christina Beamon, who had been missing since Aug. 9, was found at a Huntsville residence.
Moore is assisting lead Detective Eric Scott in the case.
Moore said a story in Wednesday’s edition of The Huntsville Item helped lead police to the girl.
“Someone
overheard people talking about the girl they saw in the paper,” Moore
said. “Basically, we ran that down and one thing led to another place
and that led to another place and we found her.”
“We are
currently looking into the reason why and what happened during the time
she was gone,” Moore said. “We have an interview scheduled with her.
We’re trying to figure out who we need to talk to.
“We’re trying
to figure out where she was staying and what was going on and hopefully
we will get to the bottom of what was going on.”
Beamon was
reported missing Aug. 10 when a neighbor told police he saw her get in
a vehicle occupied by two black males on the morning of Aug. 9 and
leave the apartment complex where she lives.
