She is classified as a runaway, but Lindsay Duff has been missing for more than a week and her parents are worried about her.

The 16-year-old Silver Lake girl was last seen at home Aug. 13 shortly
before she sneaked out an upstairs window, said father Mark Duff.

“This is her first time running away from home,” said June Smith, her sister.
“She had recently been spending time with the wrong kind of crowd and
we believe she was persuaded to leave home by her 23-year-old
boyfriend.”

Duff’s parents reported her missing the same day to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Rebecca Hover, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office, said late Friday she
wasn’t familiar with the case and has not been asked by police
officials to send out a press release.

Lindsay Duff, due to begin her junior year at Cascade High School, is scheduled to
participate in the Running Start program this year where most of her
schoolwork would be at Edmonds Community College, her father said.

The family has been putting out flyers in the south Everett area, her father said.

The family has received indications she’s still in the area. “We think
someone saw her Wednesday night (Aug. 19) at about 12:30 at the
Albertsons on Madison and Evergreen,” Mark Duff said.

A few hours before that the owner of a Mexican restaurant on Casino Road
called to say he saw a girl matching the photo on the flyer.

Lindsay Duff has red hair with blonde highlights, is 5-feet-3 inches tall and weighs 95 pounds.

“Her mother and I are very much in search of her and love her and miss her,” Mark Duff said.
