Marion, NY -- State police say a 16-year-old girl has been missing since Sunday morning.

Lindsay T. Woods, of Marion, was last seen on Sunday at about 11 a.m. on Eddy Ridge Road in Marion, in Wayne County. She is 16 years old, is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 155 pounds, police said.

She was last seen wearing a brown jacket, a fur beige sweater and blue jeans. She has a tattoo on her left forearm.

Police find body of woman missing in Wayne County

Freile • Staff writers• September 27, 2010A team of searchers has found the body of a woman missing in Marion, Wayne County.New York State Police Senior Investigator Chris Baldwin said troopers found the body of Lindsay T. Woods, 25, formerly of Fairport, in a wooded area about 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.



Woods, who had been staying with her boyfriend at his residence at 4732 Eddy Ridge Road, Marion, was last seen about 11 a.m. Sunday. She had gone into a wooded area by her boyfriend’s property.“She was found deceased. There were no signs of foul play,” Baldwin said. A team of state police, search dogs and volunteers scoured the area via helicopter and on the ground, Baldwin said. Family members also came to the scene to help with the search.Troopers said Woods left alone to go into the woods. Although troopers did not say what Woods was doing, they said it was not out of the ordinary for Woods to go to that the wooded area alone.Baldwin said Woods spoke with a friend via cell phone after she entered the woods. The friend became concerned for her and called police, Baldwin said. Troopers said Woods last used her phone about 3 p.m. Sunday. GMCLENDN@DemocratandChronicle.com
