News of Jaycee Dugard being found alive nearly two decades after being
adducted has strengthened a local mother's fight to bring her missing
daughter home.Morgan Nick was abducted from an Alma, Ark., ballpark in June 1995.Morgan's
mother Colleen Nick said not a day goes by that she doesn't think about
what her own reunion with her daughter will be like.On Thursday, Nick said she celebrated the fact that the Dugard's will have the opportunity to be a family again."In every missing child case somebody knows the truth, Nick said. She
has walked in shoes no parent wishes to wear. Since her daughter's
abduction 14 years ago Nick said everyday she's lived with the message
"love always hopes” her mind and heart."At the end of the day I
want to be able to look her in the eye and say, "'I always knew that
you were coming home,'" Nick said. "'I've never given up on you, I've
always believed for you.'"Nick said news of Dugard going home 18 years after being abducted brings happiness to her heart."This
family they have the chance to be a mother and a daughter and a father
and a sister again," Nick said. "They should get to do."Nick said she lives for the day she can do the same with her daughter who is now 21 years old."I
can see it in my mind. I can see us starting over and going forward
from here and bringing our family together in a new way," Nick said. "I
mean we still have a room for Morgan. We're ready to do whatever it
takes to bring our family back together."Nick said 14 years may
seem like a long time to keep holding onto hope, but it's something she
said she owes it to Morgan and thousands of other families across the
country that are walking similar journeys."For me Jaycee's
recovery is what I expect every single day, but for many people it's
the unexpected and it's kind of the shot in the arm like wow we can do
this," Nick said.

On June 9, 1995, six-year-old Morgan Chauntel Nick was
kidnapped while at a ballpark but her family “continues to believe that
her abduction will be solved and she will return home to them where she
belongs” – Do you have any information?
For those living in Arkansas in 1995, the face of Morgan Chauntel Nick is as clear in the
minds of Arkansans now as it was then. The little girl was at a Little
League baseball game in Alma, Ark. with her family, but did not return
home with them. She had vanished, and Morgan’s face began appearing on
news shows daily for some time.
As time passed, the story of Morgan’s abduction was featured less and
less in the media but her family never gave up hope, and 15 years later
they continue to be hopeful. For justice. For her return.
On Morgan Chauntel Nick’s Facebook page, the following is written:

This coming Wed, June 9, 2010 will mark 15 years that Morgan
has been missing. If you know the truth about what happened to Morgan,
please call the police, send an email to morgannick@aol.com, or mail
something to PO Box 1033 - Alma AR 72921. You can be a hero AND you can
remain anonymous if you wish.

Also featured is a sketch of the man “believed to be responsible” for
Morgan’s kidnapping. In addition to the contact options listed above,
anyone with information about this man or Morgan’s abduction can call 1-800-THE-LOST.

Fifteen years have passed, but Morgan’s family continues to search for
her and to help recover other missing children in the United States.
Morgan’s mother, Colleen Nick, formed the Morgan Nick Foundation,
which has a tagline reading “Love always hopes.” MNF “serves as a
support to families of missing children” and provides free programs “designed to
empower children and families against the dangers of abduction and exploitation.”

The Amber Alert program in Arkansas is named after this young girl,
now 21, and is called the Morgan Nick Amber Alert.

Morgan Nick’s family and friends refer to her in the present tense because “love always hopes.”
