REBEKAH GLENN - 14 yo - Fairbanks AK
Alaska State Troopers have located the bike of a missing Fairbanks
teen, but there is still no sign of the runaway three days after she
left home.
Rebekah Glenn, 14, is believed to have left her Haystack subdivision
home around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Her sister said she might have been upset
at the time, but her family does not know why she left.
On Wednesday, searchers located Rebekah’s purple mountain bike near 10 Mile Elliott Highway, about nine miles from her home.
The bike, which was in good condition, was on the west side of the
highway, about 100 feet off the road, trooper Sgt. Brian Wassmann said.
One caller said they might have spotted Rebekah on Tuesday night on
the Steese Highway, but troopers have not received any other tips about
her possible whereabouts.
“Right now we don’t know where she is or what she’s doing,” Wassmann said.
Volunteers and dogs from PAWS Search and Rescue have been searching
around the clock for Rebekah. Troopers conducted an aerial search over
the Elliott Highway on Wednesday, and more flights are possible if
troopers get a better idea of her possible location, Wassmann said.
Rebekah is described as a white female, 5 feet 6 inches tall and
approximately 130 pounds with waist-length dark brown hair and eyes.
She might be wearing a puffy white winter coat and military green
snowpants.
In addition, she might be traveling with a bag and is believed to
have two swords, including a 3-foot long English broadsword and sheath.
She has never run away before, but her family said she knows her way around Fairbanks.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call troopers at 451-5100.

Rebekah - FOUND SAFE
A girl reported missing from her family’s home off the Elliott
Highway was found Thursday evening by a resident of Fox, according to
Alaska State Troopers.
Rebekah Glenn, 14, was found walking along the Elliott Highway near the truck scales in Fox.
She was trying to hitchhike back to her family’s Haystack subdivision home, trooper Steve Lance said.
Troopers interviewed her to determine she was safe, and she was returned to her family.
It appears as if she camped out along the Elliott for the nearly three days she was missing.
“There was no indication of anything other than a teenager feeling her oats,” Lance said.
Rebekah left home early Tuesday morning with a bike and two swords
for protection. Her family said there was little indication as to why
she left.
Her bike was found Wednesday night, while volunteers and dogs from
PAWS Search and Rescue looked for her around the clock. Troopers also
conducted an aerial search for her.
“She’s healthy; she’s fine. She was under her own power, and that’s what we hope for,” said Cathie Harms, spokeswoman for PAWS.
