ASHTON BEAVIS - 3 yo - Marion County OR / Seattle WA
A 3-year-old boy is missing and may be in the Seattle area with his
parents, who recently disappeared after they were ordered to give up
custody of the child, police said.
The boy, Ashton Lee Beavis,
is Native American and stands about 2 1/2 feet tall, weighs 50 pounds
and has black hair and brown eyes.
His parents, Reginald and
Shawna Beavis, are drug users and fled their residence in Marion
County, Ore., on Aug. 20 after receiving a court order to give up
custody of the boy, police said.
The Tribal Court of the
Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde ordered the Beavis couple to
relinquish their son after failing to comply with court-ordered drug
treatment.
The whereabouts of the three are unknown, but a
Keizer police spokesman said they may be in Seattle or Portland, Ore.,
or somewhere in Nevada.
The parents are considered fugitives,
police said. Reginald Beavis has a statewide warrant for his arrest for
contempt of court. Police also have probable cause to arrest both
parents for custodial interference.
Officials said they may be driving a red 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Oregon license plate number WCT059.
Reginald
Beavis, 40, is described as Native American, standing 5-feet-11-inches,
weighing about 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Shawna Beavis, 38, is described as white, standing 5-feet-5-inches, with sandy blond hair and blue eyes.
Anyone
who sees them, or knows of their whereabouts, is asked to contact
Detective Tim Lathrop of the Keizer Police Department at 503-390-3713,
or contact local authorities.

Re: ASHTON BEAVIS - 3 yo - Marion County OR / Seattle WA
A man accused of taking his son in defiance of a court order was arrested Tuesday.
Reginald Frank Beavis was arrested in the early hours of Sept.
15, according to Keizer Police. However, the young boy, three-year-old
Ashton Lee Beavis, is still missing and is believed to be with his
mother.
Reginald Beavis, 40, was arrested on a felony warrant for
contempt of court and was also charged with second-degree custodial
interference.
Shawna Dee Beavis, the boy's mother, is still free and is believed to have the child.
The incident apparently stemmed from a protective custody order
issued by the Tribal Court for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
According to Keizer Police, the court issued an order to take Ashton
Beavis into protective custody after Reginald and Shawna Beavis didn't
comply with a court-ordered treatment program. Keizer Police Lt. John
Troncoso described the couple as "drug users."
Shawna Beavis is described as a 38-year-old white woman
standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds.
She has sandy blonde hair and blue eyes.
Ashton is a three-year-old American Indian boy with black hair
and brown eyes, standing 2.5 feet tall and weighing about 50 pounds. Reginald Beavis was arrested around 7:30 a.m. Sept. 15 when he
was found by Salem Police in the area of Academy and Pine Streets NE in
Salem. According to Troncoso, Reginald Beavis attempted to flee but was
apprehended by Salem Police and turned over to Keizer authorities.

Ashton - FOUND SAFE
An anonymous tip helped Keizer police find a 3-year-old boy who went missing in August.
After a weeks-long investigation, detectives received a call that
Ashton Beavis was with his mother in a home in the 4000 block of Arleta
Avenue Northeast in Keizer.
Detectives found Ashton unharmed there today. His
mother, Shawna Beavis, 28, was held at the Marion County Jail on
$15,000 bail, said Lt. John Troncoso, a police spokesman.
On Tuesday, officers arrested Ashton's father, Reginald Beavis, 30,
of Keizer on counts of custodial interference and a felony warrant for
contempt of court.
Investigators think that the Beavises took Ashton after failing to complete drug treatment and losing custody of him.
Both are members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde. They
are thought to have left Marion County soon after a tribal court
ordered their son into protective custody.
