Re: MIRELLA COLLAZO - 15 yo - Fort Worth TX
FORT WORTH — A 15-year-old girl who police said was kidnapped moments after a friend was shot and killed returned home safely Monday night.
Mirella Collazo's ex-boyfriend was in police custody.
Family members didn't even know if Mirella was alive after she was abducted on Sunday night. Then — around 7 p.m. Monday — they got a call from the alleged kidnapper's family who said Mirella was being released.
"They went looking for her and they found her around the corner... just walking," said Mirella's cousin, who asked not to be identified.
It was then time for an emotional reunion. "My mom started crying and we all hugged her," said Erika Collazo, Mirella's sister.
According to Fort Worth police, Mirella's former boyfriend, 16-year-old Larry Sigala — along with another man — shot and gravely wounded 20-year-old Juan Mejia-Alanis, a male friend of Mirella's, in front of her house in the 4400 block of Merida Avenue in southwest Fort Worth.
The two then drove off with the 15-year-old girl, a South Hills High School sophomore, triggering a statewide Amber Alert.

Re: MIRELLA COLLAZO - 15 yo - Fort Worth TX
After a statewide Amber Alert and nearly 24 hours of searching,
15-year-old Mirella Collazo is back home in Fort Worth. Her
ex-boyfriend and alleged kidnapper, 16-year-old Larry Sigalas, is in
police custody.
"I was with Larry and we decided to split up. He was going to go to his house and I was going to go back to mine," Collazo said.
She says she was walking back home by herself around dinner time when
her family spotted her. Her mother was understandably overjoyed.
"When I seen her, she just broke down in tears, happy to see me," Collazo said.
"We just got so happy cause I mean because we just wanted to know that
she was still here. We thought that he might take her away, like far
where we can't ever see her again," said Erika Collazo, Mirella's
sister.
Mirella Collazo dissapeared Sunday night from her front driveway. She
was waiting in a vehicle with 20-year-old Juan Mejia-Alanis, a friend
of her sister's. Police say Sigala and an accomplice showed up around
7:30 p.m., fatally shot Mejia-Alanis, then abducted Collazo. She says
Sigala misunderstood the situation and reacted out of jealousy because
the two had broken up the night before.
"Larry, he's not a bad person, he didn't mean to kill Juan. It's just that he was mad and he thought something else," she said.
Collazo wants the community to know she's okay and that she's heartbroken over what happened.
"Thanks for worrying about me and I feel really bad for Juan's family. I can't imagine how they feel," she said.
