Father of victim in Miramar mass killing speaks out






MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Police have yet to find the killer or killers responsible for murdering three people at a Miramar home, and now the father of one of the victims is making a public and personal plea to find his son's killer.
Miramar Police said they have received a steady stream of leads in the case but have yet to arrest those responsible for killing Faith Bisasor, 48, her son Davion Bishop, 15, and a friend visiting the family from out of town, Nekitta Hamilton, also 15, on Aug. 16.
Now the ex-husband of Bisasor and the father of her son, is pleading for anyone in the public to come forward with information that may lead to an arrest. "This is a gangster-involved killing," said the father, who only wanted to be identified as Mr. Bishop. "You're talking about women and children."
Police discovered the victims' bodies a day after their murder when a friend of a lone survivor called police with the news. He told police that the survivor somehow found the strength to call him a day after the killings and informed him she had taken a bullet to the face at the home and was left for dead. That woman, who remains unidentified for her protection, only recently left the hospital and is still recovering.
Police released a sketch of a suspect, provided by the one survivor of the killings, about a week after the murders occurred, and the reward for information leading to the killers has swelled to $25,000. "If you know anything, no matter what information that you have, I believe that, before God and before mankind, you have the responsibility to come forward," said Bishop.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Police have released a few more details on their on-going investigation of a shooting that left three people dead and one person in critical condition.
Tuesday afternoon, officials released the identities of two of the three deceased victims. Faith Bisasor and her 15-year-old son, Davion Bishop, were among the deceased, authorities said. The identity of the third victim remains private, pending next-of-kin notification.
Authorities also said relatives are flying over from another country to be at the bedside of the one survivor who is currently undergoing surgery.
A day after police arrived at the home on the 9600 Block of Encino Drive around 2 p.m. Monday with a heavily armed force, the case remains shrouded in mystery. "Obviously, this is an active investigation," said Miramar Police Spokesperson Tania Rues. "For all the information we've been able to gather, these are innocent victims here. We have an emergency room nurse and her 15-year-old son who was an excellent student, stayed out of trouble."
Before police arrived with that heavy force, they received a call from a friend from the surviving victim. Police said the victim told the friend she had been shot in the face during a robbery the day before. "Our understanding is that she called the friend yesterday, said that she had been shot the day before," said Rues. "However, that is what she said. We are still working on trying to establish the time line and pin down exactly what happened when."
Whatever happened, the fact remains three people are dead and one is clinging to life after a shooting in a home. Neighbors are stunned. "This is shocking, definitely shocking," said one man. "This is something that one would never want to have happen in the neighborhood."
Residents in the area said a woman and three teenage sons live in the home. "As far as I know they are nice kids," said another man. "They play basketball in the front, and it's just a terrible thing."

Funeral services were held for a teen killed in a tragic triple shooting Saturday morning.
Loved ones gathered to pay their respects to 15-year-old Davion Bishop Saturday. Bishop was killed along with his mother, 49-year-old Faith Bisasor, and a family friend, Nekitta Hamilton, 15, of Jamaica, in Bisasor's Miramar home.
A fourth victim survived the attack, though police have not released the surviving victim's name, for her protection.

Police on Thursday confirmed that the surviving victim of a murder
rampage last month in Miramar lived despite being shot in the head. That victim was able to call a friend the next day, Aug. 17, saying
she'd been shot and prompting the desperate search through a Miramar
neighborhood that ended in a grisly discovery.


The bodies of Faith Bisasor, 49, her son, Davion Bishop, 15, and family
friend Nekitta Hamilton, 15, were discovered inside Bisasor's home on
the 9500 block of Encino Street. The surviving victim was rushed to
Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, and police have been careful
to protect her identity and other information about her. Last week police revealed that she had been released from the hospital
and was recovering nicely. They did not say where, or what her
relationship is to the other victims, or whether she was able to
provide police with the description that led to the killer's sketch
being circulated by police. Until Thursday, police had not confirmed that the surviving victim had, in fact, been shot. Bisasor was a nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Bishop was an honor
student at Stranahan High School. Hamilton, also an honor student, was
visiting from Jamaica, where her father, Eustace Hamilton, is a reggae
performer with the stage name Thriller U. Police Detective Steven Toyota said investigators are reviewing leads, ``identifying and eliminating suspects.'' A combined reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information
leading to the arrest of the killer or killers. Authorities ask anyone
with information about this triple homicide to call Crime Stoppers,

Police get a break in year-old Miramar triple slaying

A year after the slaying of a mother, son, and teenage family friend, Miramar police have a person of interest in the case, they announced this week.

"This is something that has recently developed," said Tania Rues, spokeswoman for the Miramar Police Department. "They will be releasing more information in the next coming weeks."

The slaying of 15-year-old Stranahan High School student Davion Bishop, his mother, Faith Bisasor, 49, and family friend Nekitta Hamilton, 15, a visitor from Jamaica, was described as "one of the worst cases we've ever seen" by Miramar Police Captain Jeff Levine.

The bodies were found in a two-story house in the 9500 block of Encino Street on Aug. 17, 2009. The lone survivor of the attack, Nekitta Hamilton's mother, sustained a wound to her face that left her partially deaf and blind.

In a press conference last year, the woman, whose name police have kept private to protect her, said she could not recall any details about what happened.


She was too distressed to speak with the press about the latest developments. "Detectives have spoken with the mom and she is still very distraught," Rues said. "For her, it's not just a story of survival. She lost her only daughter in this."

Police have released few details on the case beyond what was disclosed the first week after the slayings: that the survivor called a friend for help, leading police to the grisly discovery of the four victims in Bisasor's home. They have said the killer was not someone the victims knew personally. When they released the sketch, they did not identify the person it shows.

"There are still homicide detectives assigned to this case that are working around the clock," Rues said.

On Tuesday, Davion Bishop's father, a pastor who did not want his first name published because he is concerned about his safety, said family members cling to their faith to cope with the death of the teenage boy. "When you go through this kind of loss, it's only the grace of God that can keep me," Bishop said. "Without God, I would be devastated. It's not easy losing a loved one, especially one of your children, who had so much potential."

Davion Bishop excelled in school, earning a 4.6 grade point average at Stranahan High School. Nekitta Hamilton dreamed of being a pediatrician. Faith Bisasor was a dedicated nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

MIAMI (CBS4) – This summer will mark four years since a triple murder in Miramar left two teenagers and one of their mother’s dead in a random act of violence. The survivor of the shooting, Camille Hamilton, lost a daughter in the attack and has suffered significant medical problems after being shot in the head.

CBS 4 News sat down with Hamilton recently. She described physical and emotional pain that is never-ending and a persistent desire to keep her daughter, Nekitta’s, memory alive.

Hamilton lost so much in August 2009.

“Words cannot describe my pain,” Camille told CBS 4′s Carey Codd.

Her daughter, her best friend Faith Bisasor and Faith’s son Davion Bishop were shot and killed at Faith’s Miramar home during a robbery. Camille and her daughter went to Faith’s home after shopping for a Sweet 16 dress for Nekitta and planned to spend some time together.

Hamilton said a man she’d never seen before came into the house and started shooting. Camille was shot in the head and didn’t regain consciousness for hours. Camille was shot in the head and lost the hearing in her left ear. She also lost a portion of the vision in her left eye and says she’s undergone at least 6 surgeries. She says her doctor believes she needs another.

“He could help me by doing the bone enhancement and pushing the eye out because it’s resting on some muscles and tissues inside,” Camille said.

But Camille told CBS 4 News her insurance company considers the operation plastic surgery and she says the operation is too expensive for her to pay for out of pocket. She says the operation would relieve pain and allow her eye to tear normally. For now, she has to use expensive drops to keep her eye moist and for a woman who writes to her daughter in a journal every day, the tears flow often.

“Hi my baby, my angel, Nikki,” Camille read from a journal entry to her daughter. The entries cover all aspects of Camille’s day — her work, her feelings, her pain.

We met Camille at the Victim’s Memorial in Davie where Nikki’s name is etched in granite. She carries a book of her daughter’s photos wherever she goes.

“She may not be here with me in flesh but she’s with me in spirit,” Camille said. “She’s my angel and she’d want the best for mommy.”

Camille is a nurse and is alone in the U.S. and says she spends a lot of time thinking about the man accused of causing her so much pain.

She hopes to someday ask Kevin Pratt a question and tell him something.

“I just want to ask him why is so heartless,” Camille said. “All I need justice.”

Camille’s doctor tells CBS 4 News he is trying to get Camille the operation she needs at a South Florida hospital for a reduced cost. If anyone would like to donate to help Camille pay for the operation, visit Neighbors4Neighbors.org and click on the Family Fund.

No trial date for Pratt has been set. Police were able to track him down by using DNA found on duct tape inside the home. According to investigators, Pratt denied any involvement in the murders. He is being held in the Broward County Jail.

Suspected Killer In Miramar Triple Murder Enters Plea

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The man suspected of a triple murder in Miramar two years ago appeared before a judge Tuesday morning.

During the hearing, 33-year old Kevin Pratt pleaded not guilty to three counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

According to Camille Hamilton, the sole survivor of the shooting, on that day in August 2009 she went shopping with her daughter, 15-year-old Nekitta Hamilton, for the girl’s upcoming Sweet 16 party. After their trip to the mall, they went to the home of 49-year-old Faith Bisasor in the 9500 block of Encino Street in Miramar where they planned to hang out.

Hamilton said a man she had never seen before came into the house and began shooting. Her daughter, Bisasor and Bisasor’s 15-year-old son Davion Bishop all died that day. Hamilton, who was shot in the head, didn’t regain consciousness for several hours.

Police shared out a sketch after the murders, but the crime remained unsolved up until recently.
Using DNA found on duct tape inside the home, police were able to identify Pratt.

According to police, Pratt denied any involvement in the murders. Police believe the shooting was a completely random act and that Pratt, who was homeless at the time, only got away with $80.

Pratt has a criminal record. In February 2010, according to the Florida Department of Corrections, he was arrested and charged for battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. He was also arrested for trespassing and loitering. In 1998, he was charged with carrying a concealed firearm, fleeing and aggravate battery on a law enforcement officer. In 994, he also faced multiple charges, including robbery.
