Vincenzio-Luis Estephan Lopez, 15, was reported
missing at 12:30 a.m. Sunday after he didn't return to his home in
Effort, Chestnuthill Township, and was still missing as of Thursday.


He is 6 feet 1, 145 pounds, with green eyes that sometimes turn gray,
dirty blond hair, thick black eyebrows, a long jaw line, braces and a
rosy blotch on each cheek, said his mother. He was last seen wearing a
black T-shirt, black jeans and white sneakers with red strings.

The family of Vincenzio-Luis Estephan Lopez was
still undergoing an ordeal as of Friday, by which time the Effort
15-year-old had been missing for six days.
Israel Lopez of Bushkill said his son, Vincenzio, had expressed interest in
military service after high school and eventually a music industry
career, since his hobby is mixing music.
"I told him he should think about college, as opposed to the military, but
that the final decision would be his and I would support him," the
elder Lopez said.
Vincenzio was reported missing after he did not return to his mother's Effort home last
Saturday night. Heather Lopez, Vincenzio's mother, is Israel Lopez's
ex-wife.

Vincenzio was born in Bayonne, N.J. His father moved to the Poconos in 2000 and took full custody of him in 2002.
After a conversation with his father, Vincenzio decided to start spending
more time with his mother and, on Sept. 8, moved in to live with her.
Vincenzio, who had been attending East Stroudsburg High School-North,
started sophomore year at Pleasant Valley High School, according to
school registration records.
Israel Lopez said that the last time he spoke with Vincenzio was on Sept. 30, three days before the teen was reported missing.
"At the end of that conversation, we said 'I love you' to each other," the
elder Lopez said. "He told me he would try to call me the next day or
the day after that. He never did.
"After he was reported missing, I sent him a couple of texts since he had taken
his mother's cell phone," he said. "I told him, wherever he was, to at
least just send us a text saying he was OK. I pleaded with him to go to
his mother's or come to my place, wherever he felt more comfortable,
and we could work it out later. I never got any response."
Israel Lopez, who attends and is active in Miracle Temple of Christ Ministries
in Marshalls Creek, believes his son is alive. He said Vincenzio,
though a teenager with issues common to most his age, would avoid the
wrong crowd and not do anything to get himself or anyone else in
trouble.
"He's a popular young man," Lopez
said. "Many people in the East Stroudsburg school system and local
community know him. He's charismatic, funny and outgoing. He's
respectful, and he's there to help his friends in any way he can."
In fact, Vincenzio had been singing in choirs in school and at Ministry Temple of Christ, his father said.
"I think his friends probably know where he is and are helping him," Lopez said.
When asked what he would tell Vincenzio if the boy, wherever he is, could
hear him, a tearful Lopez said, "I love you. Please just come home."
The Pocono Record tried contacting Heather Lopez on Friday, but was unsuccessful.

reported any progress in the search for him.
Vincenzio
was reported missing on the early morning of Oct. 4, after his mother
awoke to find him nowhere in or outside of the house.
"We were watching a movie in my room when I fell asleep at about 12:30
a.m.," Heather Lopez said. "I woke up a little later and Vinny wasn't
there. I checked in the house and found the back door unlocked and
figured he left through there. I checked outside and saw no sign of him.
"I sat on the back porch and waited, thinking he had gone for a walk," she
said. "When he didn't come back after a couple of hours, I called
police and reported him missing."

Heather Lopez said her son had been affected by the stress of his parents'
troubled relationship, but that he finally had found happiness after
moving in to live with her and showed no sign of wanting to leave.
"We love him," Lopez said. "We miss him. We are completely, completely
distraught with worry and concern. We just want him home. There will be
no repercussions. We can work it out later, whatever it is, if he just
comes back to us safe."

Having been missing for almost a month,
Vincenzio-Luis Estephan Lopez, 15, of Effort, was found by police
Monday in New York City and is now back at his father's home in
Bushkill.
Police found Vincenzio unharmed in
Brooklyn, N.Y., where he had been staying with friends. His father,
Israel Lopez, said the family now will focus on getting Vincenzio back
to Pleasant Valley High School and addressing the problems that had
caused the teenager to leave home in the first place.
"We're just so happy he's back home safe and sound," said Israel Lopez, who
got the call from police at about 9 p.m. Monday that his son had been
located.
Vincenzio had been living with his mother, Heather Lopez, in Chestnuthill Township
when he was reported missing.
"It's the best early birthday present I could ever ask for," the tearful
mother said. "I just want to thank from the bottom of my heart everyone
who offered their help and support."
