Re: CRYSTAL MOORE - 16 yo - Aurora IL
A 16-year-old East Aurora High School student last seen Friday has been reported missing, her mother said this afternoon.
Crystal Catherine Moore was last seen leaving school at about 7 p.m.
Friday following an after-school program, said her mother, Crystal
Starr Moore.
The mother had planned to pick her daughter up at school but was
late. When she arrived after 7:30 p.m., "no one was at the school
except the janitors," Crystal Starr Moore said.
She hasn't seen her daughter since, she said.
The teen doesn't have a cell phone, and none of her friends have seen or heard from her, her mother said.
"It's not like her at all," Moore said. "She keeps in contact. If
she's going out or not coming straight home from school, she calls me
at work or leaves a message to let me know."
Moore, who lives in an unincorporated area near Aurora, said she has
reported her daughter's disappearance to the Kane County Sheriff's
Office. Lt. Pat Gengler, a sheriff's spokesman, confirmed that Moore's
daughter was reported missing Friday night.
Moore
said her daughter has never run away before. "There's no reason -- we
didn't argue, we didn't have a disagreement," she said. "Even if she
did run away, I'd rather she called me. She calls for everything else,
so why wouldn't she call for something big like this?"
Crystal Catherine Moore is a junior at East Aurora and is described
as light-skinned, about 5 feet tall and 140 pounds, with brown eyes and
brown hair. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt, brown jacket,
black pants and white gym shoes.
Moore asked anyone with information on her daughter's whereabouts to
call the Kane County Sheriff's Office at 630-232-6840 or Aurora Police
at 630-589-1700.

Re: CRYSTAL MOORE - 16 yo - Aurora IL
Police believe the East Aurora High School student missing since
Friday most likely ran away, a spokesman for the Kane County sheriff's
office said this morning.
Crystal Catherine Moore, 16, was last seen that night outside the school as she left an after-school program.
"It still appears to be a runaway situation; we don't have any
indication it's more than that," said Lt. Pat Gengler, of the sheriff's
office. "We're pretty sure she's aware we're looking for her."Moore's mother, Crystal Starr Moore, said this morning that a friend
of her daughter told her that on Friday night she saw the missing teen
walking away from school in the opposite direction of her home with a
man. She said she believes her daughter is still in the area with the
man.
Gengler advised anyone with knowledge of the teen's whereabouts to call (630) 208-2030.
