A worried mom is imploring the public to help her find her missing 13-year-old daughter.
Zatiya Ortiz, 13, went missing on Monday, Oct. 12 from her home in Middletown.
Her
mother, Sarai Ortiz, said they had been arguing off and on recently,
and in the past few weeks Zatiya had stayed briefly at a local teen
program, and had stayed with a friend's family for a few days –
prompting a missing person report, until she was found at school, Ortiz
said. Zatiya came home on Oct. 12, but slipped out of the house after
dark, her mom said.
Middletown police said they are investigating the case, and have checked some places where Zatiya might have been.


Zatiya Ortiz was last known to be wearing a black hooded coat, gray sweatpants and flip-flops.
Anyone
with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Middletown police
