A 4-year-old boy died at his Brooklyn home yesterday, and signs point to child abuse, sources said. The mother of Jayden Lenescar told cops she found him unconscious in
their Crown Heights home at 2:30 p.m. and called 911. The tot was
pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital. "There was bruising on the body," said a police official. The child's mother and father were questioned at the 71st Precinct last night. No charges have been filed. Witness Anna Gilliam described the chaotic scene as paramedics tried to revive the boy. "They were pressing on his chest, and his mom was crying and
screaming," she said. "They had oxygen on his mouth. The mother was
hollering, 'Lord, no! Don't let my baby die!' "
A police official said the death "appears to be suspicious."

A day after a 4-year-old Brooklyn boy was found unconscious and
severely bruised, the medical examiner’s office ruled his death a
homicide and detectives arrested his mother and her companion on murder
charges, officials said.




Boy, 4, Is Found Dead and Badly Bruised in His Brooklyn Home

The boy, Jayden Lenescar, was
found in the living room of his mother’s apartment in Crown Heights
when police officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call at 2:30
p.m. on Friday, officials said.His mother, Myrna Chenphang, 25, was in the apartment at the time, the police said.Despite efforts to resuscitate the child, the boy was in cardiac arrest when he was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:50 p.m. the police said.An autopsy was performed on Saturday, and Ellen S. Borakove, a spokeswoman
for the medical examiner’s office, said of Jayden, “He was beaten.” He
was 45 inches tall and weighed 54 pounds.After the autopsy
results were released, Ms. Chenphang and her companion, Steven
Dadaille, were each arrested and charged with second-degree murder and
first-degree assault, the police said.Detectives from the 71st
Precinct initially spoke with Ms. Chenphang at the Empire Boulevard
station house on Friday. At the same time, they were trying to find and
question Mr. Dadaille, a law enforcement official said.Mr.
Dadaille, 26, who has lived with Ms. Chenphang in her first-floor
apartment on Eastern Parkway for about the past year, was apprehended
at an auto body shop in Elmont, Queens, late Friday night and taken to
the station house for questioning, the official said, adding that Mr.
Dadaille was not employed by the auto body shop.Detectives said
they did not believe that the boy’s father, Mackenzy Lenescar, 28, who
lives on President Street in Crown Heights, was involved.“They
both implicated each other,” the official said of Ms. Chenphang and Mr.
Dadaille. “They’ve made statements that implicate themselves and each
other.”A spokesman for the Brooklyn district attorney, Charles J. Hynes, did not immediately return a phone call. An official at the city’s Administration for Children’s Services said the agency was investigating the death.

A Brooklyn mother and her boyfriend are being held without bail on
second-degree murder charges in the beating death of the woman's

A Brooklyn mother charged with beating her 4-year-old son
to death over the course of two days told a friend she was "possessed
by a spirit" during the savage attacks. Suspect Myrna Chen Phang was
visited Sunday at the NYPD's 71st Precinct station house by a friend,
Rosa Adrien, who tells the Daily News,
"[Phang] said something came over her, almost like a spirit. She said
she didn't know why she let it happen." 4-year-old Jayden Lenescar died Friday afternoon after being beaten repeatedly with fists, a clothes hanger and belt buckle.

Phang, 25, and her boyfriend, Steven Dadaille, 26, were arraigned
Sunday on murder charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and
assault. NYPD sources tell the tabloids each suspect blamed Jayden's
death on the other. According to one source,
Dadaille told police "the mother was too easy on the kid," and he had
to be the disciplinarian. The beating began Wednesday night in their
Crown Heights apartment; on Friday afternoon, Phang called 911 because
Jayden was unconscious. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Phang's friend Adrien blames Dadaille, "a voodoo devotee," for the
death. "[Phang] was falling apart, she feels so bad," Adrien told the
News. "How do you do such terrible things to a 4-year-old boy, just
keep beating and beating him?"

A Brooklyn man was sentenced to 25 years behind bars today for teaming up
with his girlfriend to savagely beat her four-year-old son to death.Steven
Dadaille, 27, and his girlfriend, Myrna Chenphang, 26, had avoided
second-degree murder charges by pleading guilty to the lesser charge of
first-degree manslaughter in the October 2009 pummeling of young Jayden
Lenescar.Dadaille and Chenphang repeatedly battered the boy’s
legs, arms and torso with their hands and a belt buckle over a two day
period at their Crown Heights pad.Lenescar was taken to Kings
County Hospital in cardiac arrest on Oct. 23, 2009, where he was later
pronounced dead from blunt trauma and massive contusions. Both Dadaille
and Chenphang then implicated each other while being questioned by cops
at the 71st Precinct.

Both admitted they beat the boy because he was touching his genitals,
and they wanted to find out who taught him to do it.Dadaille
waited until Dec. 7 before admitting to his role in the death and was
sentenced in Brooklyn Supreme Court. His girlfriend copped her plea
three weeks after the death and will be sentenced to 20 years in prison
on Jan. 19, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.

She got 20 years from the judge - and a tongue-lashing from her own mother.A Brooklyn
woman who confessed to beating her 4-year-old son to death turned to
her mom, apparently for comfort, after being sentenced Friday.But Myrna Chenphang received no absolution for the death of little Jayden Lenescar."You did this on your own, Myrna," the dead boy's grandma told a crying Chenphang. "There is no forgiveness for what you did."As Chenphang mumbled, "I can't believe it," the grieving granny, also weeping, didn't hold back."You hurt all of us," she continued. "Jayden was a joy for me and for all of us."Chenphang, 26, pleaded guilty to manslaughter, admitting that she and boyfriend Steven Dadaille, 27, pummeled Jayden with their bare hands and a belt after he touched his genitals. She was sentenced to 20 years.Dadaille previously got 25 years for the October 2009 slaying.Defense attorney Gary Conroy said after the Brooklyn Supreme Court hearing that domestic violence issues contributed to the child abuse."She's extremely remorseful," he said of Chenphang. "It was a complicated situation within the home."
