Baby Boy CHARLES "Doe" - 7 months (2006) - Las Vegas NV

Jurors have found a woman guilty of first degree murder in the death of her 7-month-old foster son. The jury returned their verdict late Thursday night after deliberating for more than four hours in the trial of Melanie Ochs.

Ochs
was found guilty of causing the deadly head injury to Baby Boy Charles
in 2006. She is facing the possibility of life in prison. She is
scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 28, 2010. Ochs initially
blamed her two older children for causing the injury but did tell the
jury that the child was injured after he fell from the top of a washing
machine. While Ochs claimed the injured to the child were accidental,
authorities say abuse was involved and doctors say the fall should not
have fatally injured the child.
